Why does Israel not have its own long range bombers?

We don't have air superiority over Iran. Air superiority is an obsolete concept when sandniggers can roll drones armed with air to air missiles out of garages

Siege is done so as to not waste military power pointlessly.

same reason there are two destroyed C-130 and a F-35 on the ground in Iran.
Same reason Israel stopped attacking Iran by air and wants the USA to do it: one filthy kike murderer is worth 1000 American goyim pilots.

Iranian air defenses and their IR detection system makes the usual US combat Air operation SOP of wipe out the air defenses and get total immunity from ground attacks impossible.

Why Teheran and not Qom?
Striking religious centres is more effective against theocrats and Teheran is a pretty city worth sparing.

But at that point why not simply use a nuke?
It's cheaper, faster, less risky and you're already planning warcrimes anyway.

Nobody capable is seriously gonna avenge Iran if it is nuked.

Every other post in this thread is wrong.
The simple answer is that the US was using B-52s but they don't really make a difference.
The B-52 is a high altitude bomber saturating areas with large volumes of imprecise munitions. Most of the vulnerable targets were destroyed early in the war and since the US has not made civilian infrastructure a target the collateral damage threatened by high altitude bombing is unacceptable.

The actually significant military targets remaining are distributed and concealed in difficult terrain, demanding small volumes of very precise munitions to eliminate individually once they are located, or buried under hardened structures where surface bombing is ineffective and the main approach is to collapse access tunnels instead. None of these are jobs that an expensive-to-operate high altitude bomber is suited for.

What remains of Iran's limited air defenses are short-range infrared platforms that cannot affect a high-altitude target, but that's irrelevant when there's no target for a high altitude bomber to strike. This isn't WW2 with a license to level cities to the ground block by block.
>>
>>542413468
It's a fat piece of shit and we don't have air superiority.
>>
>>542414092
Why would that be necessary?
Unsurprisingly the country most reliant on the gulf named after it is that country: Iran.

And nothing can seriously replace maritime supplies, especially not in a desert country under siege, thereby using their defensive strengths against themselves.

Also a good point, still an option in the case of dual-use infrastructure though.

>>542414092
2000km/1250mile long coast line. The US does not have the means to pull this off, not within the subject of morale, logistics, personnel,... and then you have to ask yourself, if they pull this off, how are they going to hole down? How is the navy going to supply them? It is a suicide.

It never was anything, it just became very apparant only recently.

They already were used for strikes over Iran at targets inside of Iran, several months ago. And yes, most of the 'remaining targets' and hard installations inside of Iran are buried, hidden, or otherwise shifting-locations or concealed that are not optimal targets for heavy strategic bombers.
>>
>>542414417
It's always so cute when you ideological retards mistake your pathological empathy and ideological convictions for intelligence.

Russia should have nuked Ukraine rather than invade, the USA too should use it rather than invading.
But the latter is not in a position where invasion is needed.
>>
>>542414442
They will have to figure it out eventually, because whatever the americans are doing now is not working
Navy is their only hope for logistics and they cant allow this to go on or the value of the dollar will collapse and everyone becomes a billionaire not being able to buy a box of matches with a billion dollars
Americans arent capable of comprehending inflation so they will have to do something eventually
>>
>>542414491
...The ones where they evacuated their uranium supplies from because they themselves were not foolish enough to think that invulnerability can be built?

Retreating into holes or fortifications is exactly what siege is meant for, it is smoking out the vermin.
The only reason it is so rarely applied is because our islamic faggots were always too queasy about islamic "civilian" suffering.
Thankfully Gaza illustrated that the responsibility for such suffering does not lie with the attacking party but with the party making such a tactic necessary to spare their own.

In short: People have finally reached an agreement, namely that muslim lives are indeed worth less than western lives, as the former have always insisted on in practice.
>>
>>542413468
No justification for it. We aren't at a full blown war with Iran so there's no need to carpet bomb their entire country when military targets can be taken out with more surgical munitions like patriot missiles.
>>
idk, why didn't you use nukes on vietnam?
maybe because attacking a shithole country for no reason then slaughtering the civilians is too evil for even the barely white muttmericans

I'm just laughing.

This just isn’t true the rocket cities buried deep under the granite mountains will be unaffected they will keep launching rockets and drones and will actually build nukes in record time if they don’t allready have them. And this playing with a nuclear Armageddon only a fool would even think about it.
>>
>>542414278
>The B-52 is a high altitude bomber saturating areas with large volumes of imprecise munitions
you sure? i thought they already converted all the b-52s into missile carriers
>>
>>542416661
Well that's obviously just cope, even just nonnuckear bunker busters had them scrambling to save their uranium from destruction, but it is also besides the point of nuclear weapons as i described them: You would not fire them at such things, but rather at their cities.

Imagine in example Qom, people reduced to shadows to stain the ruins after fire has sundered the heavens over it, rendering life there permanently stained.

Muslims would merely be the somanieth in the world to realise that man commands the divine wrath they tried to threaten their enemies with.
And there's no threat of nuclear armageddon when nuking a country like Iran, it has even less friends and allies than Ukraine and if you wanna be pedantic you can literally use a nuke to destroy a nuke, rendering it even compliant with international law.
>>
>>542414092
>Mass air cav assault
>Lose tons of equipment and men just to get, let's be generous, 15,000 troops on the ground.

>Eventually engaged by land forces significantly larger than your own.

I have no doubt Israel is trying to rope our compromised politicians into this, but it would be political suicide for basically anyone even remotely involved. 20k dead soldiers in a delusional suicide attack is probably something like 200k surviving friends and family who will be absolutely enraged. All of whom have their own friend and family networks who would be amenable to being talked into voting against anyone involved.

>All to fight Israels war for them.
I don't need early life to tell what you are. The only ones delusional enough to call for nuclear strikes are all retarded chosenites.
At best, we become a pariah on the world state, at worst, it proves beyond a doubt that any country with pissrael problems needs to nuke up instantly. Turkey, probably Egypt, Iraq, Iran. All of them would be running a crash program to get a working device. Someone will almost certainly first strike Israel, or retaliate when they schizo out and try to attack another random country.

The only sane, self interested path forward for the US is to launch an immediate, and massive nuclear strike on Israel as soon as we can identify the location of their illegal nuclear weapons and neutralize them. It explicitly cuts our ties to chosenites, and mends diplomacy with the middle east.

>Why arent we using the b52 on iran ?
I'm pretty sure that B-52s have been used to launch standoff munitions, which is how all American strikes on Iran are conducted. But the B-52 cannot be used to strike Iranian targets directly because Iran has literally thousands of air defense systems and if the B52 gets attacked by one it's basically toast. The B-52 is not agile or stealthy, it's just big and can carry a lot of bombs a long way. You fly it over Tehran and picrel could be in any garage or under any tarp or whatever, so completely suppressing enemy air defenses isn't going to happen.
>>542413861
>Iranian air defenses and their IR detection system makes the usual US combat Air operation SOP of wipe out the air defenses and get total immunity from ground attacks impossible.
IR detection is not a panacea nor is it new. Also America was never able to actually wipe out air defenses and get total immunity from ground attacks, that was always just propaganda. Even during Desert Storm the USAF never managed to completely suppress Iraqi air defenses, and those were pathetic.

Sure, capitulation on the subject of its claims to the strait, its nuclear program and its pawns of course.

Simple: Big cities are big burdens and 90 million peoppe in a desert country are uniquely vulnerable thanks to those very same things that make invasion unappetising, its dependancy on the gulf of Persia make it so that it effectively threatenedthe USA by threatening to cut off its own artery. Naturally the USA just said "Okay.".

Oh and then there are its exposed pawns of course that for the most serve as excellent entertainment while the siege progresses.
For the most as islamic arabia is not as effective against them as jewish Israel.

We don't need to spend 4,000 nukes on Iran. They only have a few hundred cities worth hitting anyways. Losing 1/3rd of their population would be an incomprehensible blow to their economy, military and country as a whole. There is no case or precedence they'd hold out that long anyways. The longest a nation has ever lasted under atomic siege was 2 nukes. We can always rearm and make more nukes anyways. Nukes have a shelf life of ~ 10 years before they need to be used or recycled so they're always being remade anyways, it's not like it's lost technology.

the B-52 can fly higher than any MANPADS can reach. Even the Verba, which has a pretty high flight ceiling for a MANPADS only has about a third of the flight ceiling of the B-52. So you'd need something slightly bigger than a MANPADS to take out a B-52. Iran has literally thousands of I-Hawk clones though, so they're set on that.
>put it on a fucking balsawood delta wing lawnmower drone, like the Russians do with their Shasneed ripoffs.

>We were sending squadrons of aircraft out with one bomb per aircraft just so they could claim a higher sortie count.
The NVA air force and air defenses remained formidable throughout the war. If your anecdote is true, which wouldn't surprise me, it was probably done against targets with poor air defenses in order to hide the fact that the USAF couldn't operate as freely over Vietnam as they liked to pretend. Or it was done because the planes could only carry one bomb while remaining agile enough to come back alive, and the idea that they were doing it to inflate sortie counts was cope. I'll have to look into that, it sounds interesting, do you have a source by any chance?
>That whole war was just a bundle of bureaucratic bullshit.
So you're saying if the US had a totally different military with different officers, different structure, different doctrine, and different equipment, it could have won Vietnam?
>It was only unwinnable because of the politicians and some of them were in uniform.
No, it was just plain unwinnable. Even if you could magically divorce the military situation from the political one, the US military was never in a position to conquer North Vietnam.

This desu.
It's easy to look at the "devastation" wrought upon the Vietnamese by the U.S military - and indeed, the images of desolation are jarring - but people don't realize just how fucking pale they are in comparison to what ACTUALLY has to be done to subjugate a country.

Take Germany. The literal, entire northern world had to come together to put them down and they had to make Hell look like Heaven to do it. Then they had to rape/kill any future lineages of war out of the gene pool.

Japan is another example, though slightly different. Their fate was two or three nukes per week for the rest of the year if they didn't capitulate, so they did.

That's what it takes to break a country. Opening the gates to someone worse than Hell.
Absolutely ANYTHING short of that will fail/is purely theatre to make money.

That's about 1% of the whole US population, and we're talking about doing that for what is the most unpopular war in modern American history in the background of a looming economic depression. Even with a draft we're talking about rounding up something like 20% of the military aged male population, spending like 6 months training them, and then trying to move that massive number of men to Iran. Where in the middle east would you stage all those 3 million men? How would you get them from there to Iran? You'd end up needing a lot more than 3 million, since you'd have lines of communication about a thousand miles long which would need defending. The logistical undertaking that would be required to actually invade Iran is just not within the capacity of the United States right now.
>>542421863
>I mean... I've spent literally two decades wondering why the entire world didn't go all in on fucking TV remote tech on their defense/offense grids because it's literally not possible to outsmart.
Lots of reasons, clouds are a big one. Also visual tracking of aircraft at long range is difficult. I live somewhat near an airport that the air national guard sometimes trains at, and I can't imagine how hard it would be to keep track of all the planes optically. The best solution is a combination of Radar, IR, optical, and even systems which detect the sounds of aircraft. First you use strategic radar systems to spot things at long range, then you assign closer assets to track them and get a better fix on them, and further down the chain are the systems used to target them and ultimately destroy them. If you're interested in the topic of modern air defenses, the author Mihajlo S Mihajlović's book "Defending Putin's Empire: Russia's Air Defense System" is a good place to start. The Russian air defense system should be studied, since it is indisputably the most advanced in the world.

I saw it on a documentary a long time ago, but it just stuck with me. I was in Air Force aviation from the 90s to the 10s and I saw a lot of wasteful shit and we were also frequently held back from doing exactly what we needed a lot of the time. I was constantly reminded of that documentary of how we waged war in Vietnam.

As for the rest, if we had gone scorched earth on them from the start, the war might have dragged on to some extent, the majority of their population would have been decimated, so their pool of soldiers and their industrial base wouldn't have been able to do shit. Of course, there would still be the Soviets supplying them with at least some weapons and personnel, so I'm not saying it would have been over in two weeks.
>>
>>542416940
It's evident that American bunker busters can't destroy Iranian missile bases. The Americans threw everything non-nuclear at these bases for 40 days, and yet the Iranian bases kept launching.

Nukes probably wouldn't do much either. America's Raven Rock complex is about 200m below the mountain peak. This is where the alternate Pentagon is located, so the Americans apparently expect it to be able to resist any nuke the Russians or Chinese could throw at it. Most Iranian missile bases are more than 200 m below the mountain peak.
>>
>>542419375
Or the US could just drop a nuke on Tehran. The problem remains the same: Iran will retaliate.

Because strategic bombers stopped being viable by late WW2, anything can shoot them down from late ww2 tech onwards.

There's a reason we haven't made any b52s since the early cold War. Congress won't fund a brand new light tank, why would they fund some flying scrap heap
>>
>>542425583
Iran's obvious retaliation step would be to fire ballistic missiles at refineries, petrochemical plants, natural gas liquefaction trains, data centers, power plants and desalination plants of GCC states and Israel. The final retaliation step would be to build nukes and fire nuclear-armed missiles at the major cities of GCC states and Israel.

Iran's ability to retaliate is the reason why "bridge and power plant day" was cancelled and remains cancelled

>Broke some glass in israel, moved some sand in jordan.
Not sure what universe you've been living in for the last 15 months.

For example, after Iranian gas infrastructure was bombed, Iran struck at gas infrastructure in the region, for example the liquefaction trains in Qatar.
https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/iran-attack-damage-wipes-out-17-qatars-lng-capacity-three-five-years-qatarenergy-2026-03-19/

Another example, after Trump announced the upcoming "bridge and power plant day", the Iranians fired right next to Israel's Orot Rabin power plant, to prove they could hit it.

Refineries and other high-value targets across the region were hit by Iran in March/April this year. This is a major contributing factor to why diesel prices are so high right now.

In recent days, Iranian-origin missiles fired from Yemen have been striking Saudi refineries and the East-West oil pipeline.

And back in 2025, Iran hit Haifa refinery.

Man do I ever know that feeling
>if we had gone scorched earth on them from the start, the war might have dragged on to some extent, the majority of their population would have been decimated, so their pool of soldiers and their industrial base wouldn't have been able to do shit. Of course, there would still be the Soviets supplying them with at least some weapons and personnel, so I'm not saying it would have been over in two weeks.
I think you're underestimating North Vietnamese air defenses, and also the difficulty of decimating their civilian population. They had access to the best equipment in the world at the time and those air defenses were backed by a competent air force with a lot of real deal Soviet pilots flying some of the latest the Soviets had at the time. The civilian population that you're suggesting attacking through that nightmare of air defense was largely agrarian instead of being concentrated in cities. Said agrarian population also means that destroying their agricultural base to starve them out wasn't feasible either, since bombing the fields wouldn't do much. Even if the agriculture was taken out, the Soviet Union probably could have replaced most of it with food aid. So really we're back to a ground campaign to invade North Vietnam, through a mountainous jungle, mostly without heavy equipment.
>>542425109
>the Americans apparently expect it to be able to resist any nuke the Russians or Chinese could throw at it.
Not really. It's more like the Americans decided that if the Russians and Chinese really want a specific underground structure dead with nukes, they can't stop them, so the choice was made that in the event of a nuclear war the US government would rely on a redundant chain of command. I personally don't think it was as futile as they concluded, but that was their reasoning.
