>>542418376We joke around a lot on this website but it really was. The quality of all our lives decreased drastically after 9/11. Just the most common human experience of visiting the cockpit of an airplane as a kid is something no child will ever have again.

>~3000 people die in a terrorist attack>normalize spying on us citizens via the patriot act>spend 20+ years at war in the middle east>run up the deficit $30 Trillion dollars>Viral pandemic that kills 2,000,000 Americans>asked in a legally non-biding way to please not gather in large groups and wear face coverings for 2 years>Runs up the deficit $1.6 Trillion dollars One of these events is memorialized and worshipped on a religious level that doesnt allow its necessity to be questioned. The other is seen as a "nothingburger" and decryed as a massive waste of time and money. Just keep in mind how many people died in each event.

This crap had repercussions across the world. Flying is still annoying as a result with the amount of security checks you need to do. Can't they just look for hooked noses or brown skin and filter for that to save us all some time?
