We need to do something about the Chinese getting around the NVIDIA gpu restrictions.The Chinese are buying 5090 en masse and sending them back to China. I don’t know the full details but they clearly have proxies here doing the purchasing for them.Go on eBay, search for 5090 and then start counting how many 5090s are being sold without memory chips or gpu ic. They’re stripping off/ desolating the gpu itself plus the memory chips and shipping them back like that, which actually might not even be illegal right now since they’re technically not sending back the entire graphics card.Start ICE raids on this operation immediately because we need to disrupt this giant scheme. China ain’t using their own AI chips when they’re clearly sourcing their chips from here. I bet they are doing the same thing to enterprise cards as well, not just consumer 5090 cards. We do this now, it’ll put a huge dent in their training compute ability and slow down their AI progress. Nvidia and other players involved obviously haven’t said anything because it allows them to charge even more for all of these graphics cards. China is willing to pay like $9k for a 5090, 4x the official nvidia msrp Don’t forget to arrest all the GPU scalpers and beat them, break their hands for knowingly selling to china and treasonous activity.

The small vram of 32gb is one of the issues of using 5090 to do LLM anything, enterprise cards now come with 80Gb, 96GB, etc….Trying to tackle this via legal front is stupid and slow. Just start ICE and FBI raiding and beating up everyone and taking their goodies.
