This is a forgotten or downplayed part of the 9/11 story. 9/11 unleashed a FLOOD of abject slop throughout American culture. Publishing, visual media, and online. Prior to 9/11, 'internet memes' were generally considered goofy or aimed at younger users, like Flash games/animations. 9/11 was the big debut of Boomers into 'online culture,' and it was a total disaster. Suddenly, 'online spaces' were full of montages of crying eagles and ground zero debris set to Enya's 'Only Time.' The trend of wider internet adoption merged with 9/11 to produce a miasma of cringe retardation which persisted for years.Social engineers and architects quickly saw the power of slop, and weaponized it against the soft-brained good goyim of 'middle America.' Publishing houses like Regnery immediately began churning out pro-regime slop books whose subversive underlying goal was to recruit support for the USA-PATRIOT Act and neocon wars.And, for a while, it worked. The importance of this experiment is still not appreciated by most observers - it established the full-spectrum slop flood as a mechanism for social control and manipulation. As well as disruption - the early 9/11 conspiracy spaces were derailed. 'Dancing Israelis' and hard evidence were replaced by slop about holograms and crisis actors. We are still in the slop era. And we will probably be in the slop era for quite a while longer.
