This is a note for the archive. I just want to record that, 4 months after 9/11, in January 2002, my parents moved me to Bahrain. We had several close calls. We had bomb threate and even actual bombings (with no casualties). It was an intense time, but what I want recorded to the archive is that the Bahrainis were the immaculate hosts. They were and are beautiful people and I am very appreciative of the time I spent there as a child. It breaks my heart to see the mayhem that has unfurled in the Middle East. I pray for peace very soon and I hope that the archivists take note that, despite the animosity in the wake of 9/11, Americans and Bahrainis were good friends, at least for a time.
