https://www.v-dem.net/documents/75/V-Dem_Institute_Democracy_Report_2026_lowres.pdf

Key findings from 2026:
>Democracy is back to 1978 levels for the average
global citizen. The gains of the “third wave of
democratization”, starting 1974 in Portugal, are
almost eradicated.
>The USA loses its long-term status as a liberal
democracy – for the first time in over 50 years.
>74% of the world population (6 billion) now live in autocracies
>Only 7% of the world population (0.6 billion) live in liberal
democracies
>Almost all aspects of democracy register far-reaching
declines during the last decade – a dramatic reversal
compared to 25 years ago
>Freedom of expression is the most hard-hit: 44 countries
are declining in 2025
>A record of 41% (3.4 billion) of the world population
currently reside in autocratizing countries.
>Media censorship remains the most common tactic
among autocratizing governments with 32 countries
(73%) resorting to it.
>Among the new autocratizers are five European
countries: Croatia, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia, and the UK
>Nearly a quarter of the world’s nations are now on
the list of autocratizers: 44 countries.
>Only 18 countries are democratizing. Of them, 8 are
stand-alone democratizers, and 10 are U-turns (had been democracy, was autocrizing for a bit, but turned back to democracy such as South Korea).
>Under Trump’s presidency democracy in the USA
has fallen back to the same level as in 1965. Yet the
situation is fundamentally different than during the
Civil Rights era.
>President Trump’s second term can be summarized
as a rapid and aggressive concentration of powers in the
presidency.

BTW it's fun to go on their stats and graphs page. If you want their entire data set you can download it all as a stata file but you need the best version to run all he variables since you need the version that needs up to 200k
>>
Electoral democracy is growing fast (almost always because of liberal democracies falling)
>>
>>542479970
>Croatia, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia, and the UK
Lol what
>>
>democracy
Unless you vote against your replacement
>freedom of expression
Unless you oppose your replacement
>elections
Unless you want to choose someone who will stop your replacement
>>
World snap shot

Democracy is a mild form of communism, both are based on equality
>>
>>542480121
UK is mostly their draconian speech laws.

Croatia, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia are doing Orban type stuff

>>542480141
Actually no... immigration numbers aren't part of the methodology.

Democracy is highly correlated with free market economies but alright
>>
>>
Bell-turns means you were autocratic, began democratization, but then immediately reversed course to go back to autocracy
>>
it's so joever
>>
Yeah... we fell off. hard....

My point being that "liberal democracy" is a meme where elite consensus is what actually drives all policy, with a veneer of electoralism to provide legitimacy. In the event that popular will contrary to elite consensus does manage to breach the firewall of cordon sanitaire, coordinated public-private propaganda, imported brown electoral ballast, academic ideological capture, security agency harassment of dissidents, and donor capture of political parties, they'll just overturn the election like in Romania or try to foment a color revolution like in Serbia or Georgia. The dictatorship of the bourgeoisie does not actually tolerate any threats to the rule of capital, it's just subtler about enforcing it
>>
>>542480884
It's not. You bought into the meme that liberal democracy = when crazy libs in power and bad autocracy = when based christian heroes of the west in power.

You also fell for the "Color revolutions fake!" meme.

It's funny you think the elites are bringing in browns to vote for them but that disinformation campaigns, foreign black money being injected into campaigns, vote buying by an adversarial country is a-okay.

Liberal democracy as defined by v-dem
>Requirements of Electoral Democracy are met; judicial and legislative constraints on the executive along with the protection of civil liberties and equality before the law.
It simply means you have checks and balances and protected civil and political liberties.

The UK is autocratizing because they are censoring right wing and anti-Israel speech. According to you that should boost their numbers not make them one of the worst autocratizers. Which country or trend are they wrong on.
>>
>>542480884
Also the Serbian protests aren't a color revolution. Vucic is more pro-EU than the protestors lmfao but you're so brain broken by the idea that NOTHING can happen unless it's by a shadowy cabal that magically and seamlessly gets people to engage in mass movements they don't actually believe in so of course the anti-Vucic protesters must be asking for gay rights and EU membership (the opposite is true)
>>
>>542481065
immigration is way down in usa
just because we have a jewlover who is anti immigration we slid further than uk where the jewloving govt is pro muslim
>>
>>542481301
No. They don't mention immigration at all in the report you retard. They mention growing executive power, interference in FCC, interference in media mergers to force them to make editorial decisions, decline in legislative restraints, increased control over academia

Liberal democracies are simply the best countries in the world to live in. Cry about it all you want, but it's the best system of government. USA becoming an authoritarian shithole is a bad thing.
>>
>>542479970
None of this horseshit is real until they acknowledge that the UK and EU jail people for speech.

Fuck every single fucking leftist piece of shit.
>>
>>542481301
BTW Denmark has super strict immigration laws and a right wing gov't and they are still strongly liberal democratic, one of the most liberal-democratic in fact. Same with Japan. You're just making shit up for no reason on 4chan.org
>>
>>542481441
>Conveniently leaves out leftist two tier justice systems in the UK and EU

You deserve to be burned alive.
>>
A democracy is a country controlled by jews
>>
>>542481462
>until they acknowledge that the UK and EU jail people for speech.
They do. The UK is one of the fastest autocratizing countries in the world specifically because of their speech.

I swear you fucking faggots cannot read. I literally spoon fed you and you STILL couldn't read.
>>
>>542481504
>EU justice system
not how it works. But yes, the report notes autocratizing in the UK and across Europe, mostly due to speech
>>
>>542481065
>liberal democracy = when crazy libs in powe
Liberal democracy is when liberals (as in the liberal order, not progressives) control a state via the power of money, to the end of making more money
>It's funny you think the elites are bringing in browns to vote for them
They are but nice job trying to present this as conspiratorial
>but that disinformation campaigns, foreign black money being injected into campaigns, vote buying by an adversarial country is a-okay
If the regime is running propaganda campaigns and buying elections to further their own interest at my expense then no I don't particularly care if (to the degree that this is even true) another country wants to come in and do the same thing to support my position at their expense. If one is valid then so is the other
>>542481228
Vucic, famous internationalist versus students, academics, and civil society, famous champions of the national interest who definitely don't have a decades long record of getting funded by the state department and the open society foundation. I'm sure Brussels is rooting for him
>>
>>542479970
Democracy comes with an asterisk and the asterisk says “gay anal sex marriage and tranny rights”.
>>
>>542481667
Yeah that's not what liberal democracy is. I told you what liberal democracy is.

>Other countries do that
Can you show me what liberal-democratic countries where vote buying or illegally funding candidates in Romania or Moldova?

>Serbia take acting like it's the organge revolution
Retard.
>>542478728

Go talk to actual serbs. Vucic is trying to get Serbs into the EU. The protesters are anti-EU or at the very least don't care. The SPS is probably going to win, they are a Euroskeptic, pro-russiam, anti-western party. That's who the protestors back. Vucic says "It's a color revolution" because color revolution = "the guy I liked was removed by the people so I'll just blame the west with 0 evidence" in slavspeak and gullible westerners fall for it every time
>>
>>542481065
The Islamic + prajeet hordes are vote buying by uae, saud, turkey, india etc. Liberal democracy doesn't work anyway it always results in chaos. People aren't equal pretending they are is to deny reality
>>
>>542482074
>Liberal democracy doesn't work anyway it always results in chaos
he says from the Netherlands. It's always the people in the most stable, safe, liberal-democratic countries that everybody wants to live in who say "democracy bad" because you literally have nothing to complain about so you need to turn democracy into a satanic evil so you can feel you live in an exciting movie where you're going up against the bad guys
>>
>>542481839
>slavspeak
Lol you are literally the meme
