I have a hard deciding what is more amusing: that Trump is desperate enough to lie about this, that his supporters are dumb enough to take him seriously, or the idea that the government has this money from collecting tariffs instead of always and permanently having the ability to create money just by spending it into existence.
Trump has told the bond markets he has a spare 1.2 billion he could use to balance the budget but continues to want to borrow from them. Expect rates to continue to rise, they don't like being blatantly insulted.
