It's not even funny...

In the later years of the Roman Empire, money was worthless because it had been devaluated so much.

They ran the normal coin to the ground (at first it contained 99% silver but at the end only 10% silver coating).
So democracy was abolished and they let mad Emperors get into power.

Then they created a new gold based coin (solidus) by expropriating civilian gold (that's why the empire converted to christianity btw, so they could expropiriate the gold in polytheist temples). But society was already too destroyed by years of inflation.

Then it was civil war and the Empire stopped defending some borders (like US bases leaving the middle east).

Then they just imported barbarians, because Romans had stopped making kids because they couldn't afford a family.

Then in the later years, Romans were so fed up, they had no money, no security, nothing, so some just left the fucking Empire and went on to live with barbarian tribes.

tldr; it's too late to change the course of history, the best you can do is skip some steps and go live in barbarian countries.
