— Saudi Arabia is aiming to restore around half the capacity of its East-West oil pipeline within days after drone attacks from Iraq halted operations last week, according to Bloomberg.

Saudi Aramco is working to bypass a damaged section on the route that will allow it to resume part of the pipeline's capacity.

Full capacity is expected to be restored in about six weeks.

What determines fuel price? Is it actual supply and demand of the physical fuel, or is it all the market trading, which can become disconnected from physical supply and demand?

TRUMP LOSES THE OTHER STRAIT
>The Houthi advance is bad news for the U.S., and even worse news for Saudi Arabia.
>As recently as last week, the Iran war appeared to be turning slightly in America’s favor. The Houthis—the Yemen-based militia that is Iran’s most formidable remaining ally in the Middle East—were under pressure from their local rivals, and the Saudi air force was pounding them with air strikes. The president of Yemen’s internationally recognized government issued a triumphant statement declaring that the Houthis’ miscalculations “will open the door to their complete collapse.”
>Yesterday morning, those delusions drifted away like smoke as Houthi forces broke through their enemies’ defenses and seized the towns and islands around the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, one of the most important maritime choke points in the world.
>That loss leaves Trump, who had been hoping to win back control of the Strait of Hormuz from Iran, with a bitter surprise. His enemies now control both of the two important straits in the Middle East, through which a combined total of about a third of the world’s oil shipments pass every day.
>It also underscores a stubborn fact: For all the setbacks suffered by Iran’s “Axis of Resistance” over the past year or two, its forces retain an ideological fervor and an esprit de corps that is sorely lacking on the other side. The Gulf states’ failure to work together against the Houthis has been catastrophic, and it echoes Trump’s own failure to devise a plausible or coordinated strategy against Iran.
>Unlike their enemies, the Houthis and the Iranians have a deep ideological bond, one that their soldiers willingly die for. And the Houthis do not need to win every battle. As long as they can sink an occasional oil tanker, they will hold a whip hand over their Saudi neighbors, and over the rest of the world too.

>ScottBessant is handing over money on WTI crude (to pretend it still $106)
can you explain this, anon? Doesn't this mean just that Chinese demand is high? Or is it that Bessent is trying to keep WTI artificially low by .... i guess... selling WTI futures contracts?
>>
>>542719625
>what are they burying the entire thing under 10m of concrete?
The laws of physics.
You can't elevate a fluid more than 10m, on earth, near sea level with an air pressure based pump. It has to be brought up mechanically if it's deeper than that, which is expensive and mechanically complicated.
>>
>>542719710
Based on current supply deficits and the fact demand hasn’t been destroyed due to market manipulation + global SPR draws a barrel of oil should go for around $200. Go figure.
>>
>>542719669
The WTI manipulation affects all oil. The reason asians are willing to pay a premium is that it's still cheaper than driving to europe or america. They were the main buyers of the strait oil.
>>
>>542719710
There's a price that means nothing and is manipulable (futures). On the day you need to fill your tank, the only thing that matters is the actual price of delivery. In some places that's been north of 100 for a while now.

>what are poor indians gonna do without diesel?
poor Indians will continue to depend on our mature nationwide food and essentials rationing and distribution system and will mercilessly eject any government that does not protect their interests.
We're also extremely frugal and have a civilisational memory of shortages and the tools and logistics structures required to help deal with them. For example, just out of sheer inertia, I maintain a 4 hour battery backup inverter and my home has two separate water storage tanks totaling 3,500 litres.

If you're talking about an oil pipe underneath rock and UHP it would probably be better to have a basket type elevator though. But then now if you want to disrupt the pipeline you just have to target the oil elevator at the port. 1 singular point needs to be targeted for total shutdown.

well, I sincerely hope you figure out some way to end H1Bs, eject illegal immigrants, freeze green card issuance and new citizenships. Unfortunately, Trump seems to have made a mess of immigration and has appeared to retreat bigtime on it.
Re the pic you posted, I guarantee every one of Vivek's cousins back here would have laughed their guts out when someone forwarded picrel to them, pitying him for his comical straining at trying to be more "American" than Johnny Appleseed. >you're also several hundred million over your realistically sustainable population in a time of genuine strife, like china.
*Several* hundred million? idk. We're food surplus and have plenty of forex (something like the third highest in the world) to outbid & place giant orders for whatever we need in order to get through a crisis (and that's not counting our stupidly large gold reserves). Plus, we are the world's second largest fertiliser manufacturer and diesel exporter. We just placed ginormous orders for LNG from the US.
Don't get me wrong, it's probably going to get scuffed but we tanked 4 million dead or so in Covid (and that was wild) without breaking a sweat, nationally speaking.

Netanyahu in a Dramatic Statement: "We will revoke citizenship from those who defame the soldiers of the IDF."

The Prime Minister will advance two government bills as part of the effort to combat the defamation of IDF soldiers and the State of Israel worldwide.

The first bill will increase compensation in defamation lawsuits by a factor of 20, without requiring proof of damages, and set it at one million shekels.

The second bill will allow for the revocation of citizenship. The proposals will be immediately submitted to the Ministerial Committee for Legislation and subsequently for a vote in the Knesset.

Welcome to the club, anon! :D

Poetry is everything to Iranians, I’m not joking, much more than even Shakespeare is to English speakers. I suggest you read some translations of the works of Hafez, Sa’di (start with his Gulistan, which is an etiquette book for kings and dervishes), Khayyam, and Rumi. If you’re a native English speaker, Fitzgerald’s translation of Khayyam’s poetry is a classic in its own right and accessible to beginners:

https://dn760109.eu.archive.org/0/items/rubaiyatfitzgera00omar/rubaiyatfitzgera00omar.pdf

I also suggest Mirror of the Invisible World: Tales from the Khamseh of Nizami by Chelkowski, and especially A Two-colored Brocade: The Imagery of Persian Poetry by Annemarie Schimmel, an amazing compendium of symbols. Dick Davis’ abridged version of the Shahnameh is good to read to understand their national epic, you can find all the books I list on Libgen.

If videos are more your thing, I’ll suggest two lectures series to start with, the first being Dr. Michael Barry’s various lectures on Iranian literature and art, I liked these two in particular:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKyF0AwsfZY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JouUmHp1e4E

And Jason Jorjani’s lectures on Iranian civilization with Dr. Jeffery Mishlove. He has a lot of crackpot ideas and is an edgelord transhumanist, true, but his insights into Iranian culture and history can be quite profound, very entertaining podcasts, 41 videos in total:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxsz6igKMds&list=PLpmRGh63MgoOvvKfG4LYK2IQktwvfITDP

And don’t get me started on Iranian film. It’s about time I actually learned Persian fully, I’ve been studying it half assed for years now, the people around me speak Tajik anyway

This could definitely become a problem. They already subsidize fertilizer quite heavily, and this year the annual fertilizer subsidy was used up within a few months. If price increases continue and a recession causes their tax revenue from the IT services sector to plummet, things could get tight.

heh I turned down many offers to go to the US / Canada and I'm glad I did and I have friends / family in IT in the US so from what I can understand, H1Bs can be made to work much harder and to take a lot more mistreatment than natives because they have fewer options. As people get their green cards and need to execute projects they don't have, speaking frankly, as much patience with employees who want luxuries such as "work life balance" and "emotional / personal development". So if the choice is to hire George or Gurpreet, where Gurpreet is more guaranteed to work hard and whose mother can be freely cursed in a language that HR does not speak, for projects where things are tight, they may just hire a Gurpreet as the safer choice.
Of course, this isn't fair to George, who is a native and shouldn't have to compete with a desperate man but the people making sure a blind eye is turned to H1B fraud are in State Capitols and Washington.
From the outside it appears to be a "mafia" but it's actually not controlled or organised, it's typically people picking those they are confident they can squeeze work out of and who will firmly be under their thumb.

It is rumored that Xi Jinping collapsed during the BRICS summit hosted by India. After receiving emergency treatment from his accompanying medical team, he cut his visit short and returned to China on a special plane. Upon arrival at the Beijing airport, authorities did not arrange for a large contingent of officials to greet him or organize a welcome ceremony; instead, a military helicopter was used to transport him directly to Beijing's 301 Hospital for emergency care. Reportedly, a team of specialists at the 301 Hospital diagnosed him with a severe ischemic stroke—specifically, an acute cerebral infarction. Concerned that the Indian side might gain access to his health data, Xi refused emergency treatment in India, opting instead to return to Beijing. As surgical facilities were unavailable during the flight, the medical team was forced to rely on conservative treatment to sustain his life, thereby missing the critical window for emergency intervention and surgery. Even if Xi undergoes surgery at the 301 Hospital, there is a high probability that he will suffer from severe long-term aftereffects. At present, Beijing authorities remain uncertain whether Xi will recover his health in time for his scheduled visit to the United States; consequently, they are waiting to determine whether the trip, planned for late September, needs to be cancelled.

I would normally agree with you, anon, but Fitzgerald’s Rubaiyat is a certified classic, it was one of the bestsellers of the late 19th century in the West. There was widespread interest in the Orient at that time, starting in large part with Goethe’s investigation of Hafez

>is it true that its mostly telugu? how does the caste system factor into this?
An Indian Telugu politician pushed very hard for (very basic) IT education and skills development and a lot of Telugus took that training up. Some of the more capable and hardworking among them manage to elevate their entire extended families with the relative wealth they earned and their status became near-godlike within their circles. So they would get many people who were willing to work as hard as asked (even if they were neither skilled nor naturally talented in IT) for a chance at climbing the greased ladder. This operated / operates loosely within clan / caste lines and led to a chain reaction of gultis (our slang for Telugus) hiring gults.
Now that's just one state in India and soon every state was copying Andhra Pradesh. The hardworking and skilled few rose and imo many of them preferred employees who were personally beholden to them quite simply because they could squeeze the maximum amount of work from them. The stereotype went that native Americans were relatively lazy and unreliable and compared to people who are desperate not to be thrown out of their job or they'll have to go back home and be known as the loser who blew it, for many it may well end up that way.
As far as caste goes, it's a constraint / factor of varying importance. I wouldn't say it's an overwhelming factor.
Of course this entire setup suits / suited capital just fine, just as it sucks for native born Americans. It's fertile ground for resentment and friction, even if no racial / cultural grounds existed, which they do.

Moving fluid through suction is just creating a void that the atmosphere rushes into to fill. In so doing, it pushes the fluid in front of it. This means you can't push harder than the force of atmospheric air pressure.
The air pressure in the atmosphere can only push water up about 10m at sea level, because the force exerted is 1 atmosphere of pressure.
To push harder, you have to add pressure by other means. Or use mechanical alternatives.

Because unironically zog will murder then in an airstike.
What zog has been doing since the propaganda failure of vietnam is offering journalists embedded access to US forces. They travel around with US troops, get protection from random people who might have guns, and unwittingly become pawns of US military propaganda (kinda hard to photograph abu ghraib or murders of civilians if they don’t take you there). Journalists who go off on their own and try to be independent get shot at / airstriked and die. The rest get the message and stay on the reservation.
I don’t think people understand how truly soviet-tier our system is, because the entire thing is wrapped up and presented as different with mass propaganda.

The entire Indian IT industry in the US got its start because of a mass of people trained in NIITs in the mid to late 90s who could endure the agony of learning COBOL to fix mind-numbing Y2K code on mouseless VMS terminals, back when everyone who had the opportunity was learning Turbo Pascal and C. They were brought on by the planeload and courtesy those guys, Y2K passed without a blip. They stayed on and many continued to slog.

Kan: A Saudi source familiar with the Kingdom’s position tells Kan News that the assumption that Israeli assistance against the Houthis could lead Riyadh to soften its conditions for normalization with Israel is “incorrect.”

According to the source, Saudi Arabia maintains that normalization with Israel must go through resolving the Palestinian issue and will not come through a third party or because Riyadh is supposedly in a position of weakness.

The source added that Saudi Arabia currently does not view a full-scale military campaign against the Houthis as the best solution, instead favoring a “smart and strategic” effort involving international partners.

A source in the Saudi-backed forces in Yemen separately told Kan that Riyadh currently appears uninterested in a full-scale confrontation, and at most seeks to regain areas recently captured by the Houthis near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

No celebrities, no actors, no actresses, no musicians, nothing
All this despite having hundreds of little girlsmurdered while on their way to school on the first day of hostilities and the assassination of Iran's head of state and religious leader for the second largest sect of islam
No protests, no calls for impeachment, no pushback whatsoever
Not even when the news came in of american military being killed in retaliation strikes by iran
Honestly I think its because this country is so non white and the vast majority of the black and brown people dont give a shit, and are more interested in marvels avengers movies and Playstation and the majority of the white people left here are 70/80 year olds who are evangelical fox news watching boomers who worship jews

Indian IT workers have never been good enough. The problem is that IT workers are non-management positions but unlike most dumb wagies, they are high IQ / autists. It’s a necessary part of the job, similar to engineers.
This means management, particularly low-IQ management, can’t differentiate between a competent IT worker and an incompetent IT worker just by listening to them. Both sound like gobbledy gook.
So along comes jeet IT worker, who knows what words to say but not how to do anything, and he appears superficially to be good enough. He actually isn’t, and won’t actually deliver value (if you’re lucky he’ll deliver something that barely works after spending 5x as much time on it as a white man).
However, incompetent managers don’t really measure success properly so they have no KPIs to differentiate the two groups properly. They’ll only have stuff like “lines of code delivered” or “number of tickets closed”, which are easily scammed by the jeet, and so they think the jeet worker is cheap and effective without realizing jeet workers are actually money losers and more expensive than hiring a competent white man at a nominally higher salary.
Even simple jobs like uberjeets they’re failures at (constantly stealing food, bad hygiene causing food poisoning, etc)

The fact is, Trump took a decrepit, rotting civilization and started the most retarded sort of war with it and now can’t believe that it isn’t working out. — The Federal Reserve has raised interest rates by 25 basis points to a target range of 3.75% to 4.00%, marking its first rate hike since July 2023.

The decision was unanimous and comes in opposition to President Trump’s calls for lower interest rates.

The surprising recommendation of the professionals in Israel regarding the promotion of the Naza film: not to attack the creators, to lower the discourse, because the film did not receive a platform in the world media

An IDF official who is involved in handling the issue said:
"Currently, the offensive responses issued on behalf of the State of Israel cause the discourse to be diverted from the film itself to responses that accuse Israel of not allowing freedom of expression. In light of this, we are lowering our media profile... there is no intention for you to go to proactive briefings... we are working in an orderly and planned manner and do not operate from the gut".

Israeli diplomats accuse:

"In the Prime Minister's Office, the internal debate surrounding the film is being fueled for political reasons and as part of an election campaign. One hand is asking to lower the profile, the other hand is sending the head of the Shin Bet to investigate and the ministers to demand that the filmmakers be stripped of their citizenship. "Israel is trapped between what is right for it at the international level and what is right for politicians electorally."

If Indians were the deathknell of any org, the first orgs to be completely devastated would be Indian orgs in India, not American IT. We have hundreds of thousands of companies that exist to service the internal market which is larger than most others. Some do well, some not so much. So it goes.

Been reading a little on Iranian autism and I found myself quite fond of it.
>Iran’s 200-Fold Aquaculture Boom
Iran has expanded aquaculture output from just 3,000 tonnes in 1979 to roughly 689,000 today—a more than 200-fold increase. Total aquatic output has grown from 32,000 to 1.566M tonnes, according to Iran’s Fisheries Organization.
The industry now runs from broodstock, roe and hatcheries to feed, genetics, processing and cold storage. More of its biological and technical base sits inside Iran.
Rainbow trout shows how far the system has developed. Iran produced 267,838 tonnes in 2022, making it one of the world’s leading producers. An integrated facility in Isfahan supplies roughly one-quarter of national demand for trout roe, giving local farms a domestic base for each new production cycle.
>Iran Turns Wheat Into Sanctions Insurance
Iran harvested 14.1M tonnes of wheat in 2026, according to the Agriculture Ministry, about 600,000 tonnes above its July forecast. Tehran calls it the largest crop in the country’s history. It came despite drought, erratic rainfall, sanctions and the disruption caused by two US-Israeli wars.
Iranian researchers once tried to apply farming methods developed largely for Europe. Many worked poorly in Iran, with its different soils, sharp temperature shifts, irregular rainfall and severe water shortages. Research programs now test varieties and cultivation methods region by region.

In 1986 if they hired a brahmin poo with 140 iq here an there then fair enough, but in 2026 it's basically the inverse: tons of low iq, incompetent poos gaming the system and running scams, notice that we have had no real innovation since the iphone whereas in the 90s we had a new thing every year, I think the DEI push under obama was at least partially installed to remove Whites and Japanese from STEM work so that they could no longer be rich off their nerdy tendencies and would instead be made redundant and poor.

Iran has connected its first geothermal power plant to the national grid, built inside the dormant Sabalan volcano near Meshginshahr, Ardabil Province. The 5‑MW facility cost €10M and was inaugurated in a ceremony attended by Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi.

Engineers drilled wells approaching 3,000 meters through volcanic rock with temperatures above 240°C to reach a heat reservoir sealed by a roughly 500‑meter clay cap. Drilling proved tougher than oil and gas work—extreme heat and abrasive rock wore out bits and fluids—so Iranian teams adapted techniques and developed domestic drilling capability to complete the project.

The Sabalan reservoir could ultimately support up to 250 megawatts, enough for a mid-sized city

I unfortunately have been working on some projects with major indian IT companies / sweatshops like Deloitte. It’s grim:
>major indian website after you login: increment the ID number in the URL and it’ll take you to some other customer’s profile (all sequential IDs, not protections)
>major indian company: can’t build a simple integration even though just dumping API specs into Claude would give you something in an hour that works fine
They’re always making excuses, begging you to do their work for them, and lying to whoever hired them that “everything will be done on schedule and under budget saar”.
Hell, we have one indian contact who has spent 6 months trying to figure out how to configure their server even though we have provided detailed instructions multiple times (global brand, I want to avoid them getting upset with us because one of their indian sites isn’t working). It would be cheaper to fly to india and do it for them than for them to pay their local jeet IT.

It was by Chinese scientists in Beijing, but working for Microsoft, an American company, it directly led to AI becoming 3x or more adapt at image recognition algorithms, so innovation is not just happening, the innovation is simple, basic math, same with the video i posted, the concept is incredibly simple but the results and functionality gained is tantamount to putting satellites into orbit.

>It is the 3rd millennium. For more than 6 months, the Supreme Leader has lain immobile on his cotton bed beneath the mountains. He is the Guardian of the Revolution by decree of the Constitution, and master of the Strait by the might of his inexhaustible drone swarms. He is a living relic writhing invisibly with power from the Age of Martyrs. He is The Immortal Patient of the Republic, for whom a thousand physicians labor each day, that he may never truly die.

>Yet even in his comatose state, the Ayatollah continues his eternal vigilance. Mighty VLS-corvette battlegroups cross the mine-infested waters of Hormuz, the narrow passage through which oil tankers need move their vital cargo - their routes lit only by paying the ecological and administrative fee, the bureaucratic manifestation of the Supreme Leader's will. Vast forces give battle in his name in uncounted countries. Greatest amongst his soldiers are the Sepah-Pasdaran, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards, veterans of a thousand missile unveilings. Their comrades in arms are legion: the Iranian Armed Forces and countless tribal militias, the ever-vigilant Houthis and the drone pilots of Hezbollah. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from pahlavists, gulfies, amerimutts - and worse.

>To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the most absurd and economically uncertain period imaginable. Forget the promise of normal shipping lanes, for every tanker may become tomorrow's breaking news. Forget the certainty of diplomacy, for every declaration is immediately followed by six contradictory clarifications. Forget the confidence of military statements, for every photo shown on Xitter is immediately scrutinized by anons on the internet with geolocation software. There is no peace in the Middle East, only an eternity of sanctions and failed naval escorts, and the laughter of insider traders.

I agree. They absolutely could get by. The "problem" is that the white men charge white rates and want to be treated like white people, increasing the costs for capital.
It absolutely should *not* be possible to stretch H1B so far. Stretching them has made hiring foreigners an actual cost savings in general, as unhappy as that might make poeple and regardless of the mess and expense that individual duds can create.

Glownigger censorship over US military personnel and equipment is at all time highs. Back in the day you could easily find videos of amerifats running over IEDs with their Humvees on youtube. In fact dead American soldiers is probably the most heavily censored subject on the entire net. The illusion that amerifats are invincible just like in the hollywood movies is too valuable to discard. Another thing is how whenever sandal-wearing resistance fighters eventually down or capture amerifat technology the amerifats are quick to claim that it was outdated tech and such.
It is in fact rather insane how persistent the whole thing is once you notice it.

Iran is STRONG my son". I thought he was drinking the cool aid and no way that's gonna happen.
Now I parrot my father and say things like "When my ancestors were half the world as kings among kings, creating poetry, architecture and bringing civilisation across all lands, your ancestors were sitting around their camp fires and living between trees."

Fuck it, adding my two cents here. I worked 10 years in SF Bay Area and NYC in tech. Indians are some of the brightest people I've worked with, excelling not just in coding, but as eng managers, tech leads, product managers, strategy and ops. But some of the most incompetent people I've worked with are also Indians, especially the ones we cheaply outsourced to India. The range of ability is wider for Indians than others, for example the Chinese or Ukranians we outsourced and managed were more capable. But don't believe that Indians are stupid, they are far from it. Exceptional talent floats to the top tier places, regardless of race, Indians are no exception.
