I live in Vancouver for the past 11 yrs, I have always drunk from the tap in kitchen, or bathroom. Some days ago, I met a friend who only drink using RO filter in his kitchen. I was like wtf? Is the water quality that bad? Am I catching some diseases?In my home country, I always have drank RO water, because the underground water is polluted due to garbage and bad stuff.

I'm sure it's fine where I live because my dogs drink it and I've grown plants with it. I drink cold bottled water 95% of the time though but I do make coffee with it and we cook with it. If it does go bad I suppose we'd figure it out when we're all fucked up.

When I was growing up in the 80s, our small town had a publicly accessable well, with one of those old cast iron hand pump things. Tasted soooo much better than tap water. They made sure and cap that thing in the 80s. Then something like 10 families on one street got cancer, and that was blamed on a chemical dumping company nearby. Everyone just started drinking bottled water exclusively. No one seemed to offer any definitive answers to any of the what happened and why type questions.

>>542787922I've been using Zerowater, that shit is decent. Filters out a bunch of shit. It's not as good as it used to be but it's still better than drinking unfiltered water. For reference my city is 200-250 ppm and it gets it down to 0. Did not check the actual water content breakdown but they use some form of chloride
