seriously, what was the purpose of this attack?>someone sneaks into an underground vault>cuts phone lines>multiple snipers fire on the substation>17 large transformers taken out>everyone involved disappeared>military experts called it a professional job>fbi said it wasn't terrorism despite having no clue who did the attack or why>$250k reward for information leading to arrest of attackers still outstandinglike anyone that's part of a group of trained operators are going to fold for 250k? but who would do this and why? it can't be an inside job done by the government to get everyone to beef up security. the government could just as easily do threat assessments with a group of operators and order power companies to make changes. and it obviously wasn't just a bunch of larpers fucking around. i feel like this had to be a part of some larger job. like the attack was a distraction from something else or necessary to shut down power so the main job could be completed? this one is so fucking weird. it's like the vegas shooter. anyways feel free to drop some other memory holes. or just spitball about the substation attack.
I haven't looked into this one. But when they just shrug and say, they don't know who did it, if a state actor was involved, if that state has nuclear weapons they don't want to make it public. So in these cases they might want to lean into "accident" but accident doesn't make sense if it's blatant shooting at the power grid, they can't come up with some plausible "oops" type cover story.Do you remember that train just got derailed in February 2023? East Palestine, Ohio. I think that could've been espionage by Russia. Because someone obviously knew that that train was carrying all kinds of toxic chemicals and derailing it would cause economic damage not just for the infrastructure but any clean up.Also you remember the Wildberries warehouses attacks, a warehouse in England just catches fire. And also some NATO shell depo in Italy just blows up. That to me seems like there is a cycle of espionage and counter-espionage by state actors and nobody wants to make any of this public because the countries involved have nuclear weapons.So this substation attack. I guess there might not be a whole lot to go by. I think you'd need some inside knowledge from law enforcement, what kind of bullets were used, and so on. Which might give you some clues. Who knows man, it might be like the JFK files, in 40-50 years someone will slip up and something will be declassified and give people vital clues (because it would be some communications from the various alphabet agencies about this attack and even their speculation would give you some inside baseball on who was most likely/capable of doing it and not getting caught).
