>>542876818The underlying assumption here is that the real problem with flock was that there weren't enough controls put in place to keep data of you being surveilled private (from anyone except the government) and prevent law enforcement from abusing access to the data of you being surveilled, rather than you living in a surveillance state to begin with. They expect you to thank them for putting "common sense controls" in place and making appropriate regulations regarding how they surveil you, so they can continue to surveil you. Notice they never expect the discussion to go to them putting an end to surveilling you, because they have already made up their mind that they will surveil you.
