The F-35 is better as a global element of modern “network” warfare. If you need to covertly penetrate someone else’s air defense zone, transmit target coordinates to allies, and deliver a precision strike, the American concept is more effective.

The Su-57 is better as a classic air superiority fighter. In a hypothetical one-on-one duel (if the Su-57 can close in and engage in close combat), its speed, missile armament, and maneuverability will leave the F-35 no chance.
