The idea that socialism has ever been a "bottom up" thing only exists because until relatively recently the government was in control of all mass media, so we only heard the story as told by the people who were in power. In reality socialism has always been pushed by the politically connected rich as a means to keep the less politically connected poor, middle class, and even other rich people who just aren't politically connected from competing with them. Socialism is in many ways just a modern version of medieval mercantilism, where established firms are protected from competition by the state.

So I end up with 1300 per month to spend on gas and other expenses. If I max my roth ira a year the 15600 unspent yearly income turns to 8100 or 675 a month. I should increase 401k as well so that would drop to 600 or less to get marginally close to maxing 401k. I am spending a lot of my excess income on retirement investing because I am not a retard that expects social security to exist. Or it will exist and they will have to take out debt to pay which causes inflation. Economy is just fucked. Growing up 71k a year would own a mcmansion. Now I cant even qualify for a mortgage.
