Too much government regulation and taxation alongside rampant unionism. It is far too expensive to manufacture in Australia so businesses either require government welfare, they go out of business or they move offshore. The public sector is the largest employer by far in this country and it is paid for through debt our great-grandchildren will still be paying off.
>>543069602>What went wrong with Australian manufacturing and auto industryDunno, but if you're anything like Canada you probably:-Made some kind of (free)trade agreement with a bigger country, with a larger population, perhaps several; that all have way more capacity to manufacture things infinitely cheaper. -Your private sector proceeded to "rationally" completely deindustrialize as they just ship everything offshore and overseas to focus on managment, tourism, money laundering, real estate, fake make believe jobs at home that don't have any inputs. -The gooberment then basically doubles down on this situation to the point where you've become completely deskilled and you've actually sold off so many assets foreign ownership becomes a serious cyclical issue as other countries actively prevent re-industrialization. Something close to that at any rate. Gets um' every time. Cunts can't help themselves; we're governed by fucking retards.
