There are vastly more people who have smoked weed and never shot heroin than those who have done both, but the experiences of the former are considered irrelevant and all focus is upon the latter. I know many people that used weed to help stop opiates though.I have known people that have gone coke -> heroin, but more typically it's always fucking oxy's.Weed is closer to psychedelics if you really want to go down the slippery slope path. So weed leading to mdma or lsd use is not uncommon. But opiates are not really even close to the same experience so it's uncommon to hop from psychedelics to opiates.

I'm 34 and have smoked every day since I was 19. I have never done any other drugs, I drank a little bit when I was 21 just because it was expected, didn't even like that. I have never had any desire to do psychedelics, stimulants stronger than my daily coffee, nor opioids of any sort. I've broken bones and have had various surgeries over the years, never used anything but acetaminophen and weed for the pain, never accepted any scripts for painkillers except for like, prescription strength nsaids; even then, I'm more likely to buy the over the counter version and just double the dose.I think the nsaids have done more damage to me, than has the weed.
