south american countries are all corrupt shit holes. you can buy them off easily. it's not like iran, where the people are united and patriotic and especially the military forces are highly motivated, trained, well-equipped and unified through religion and a well-established order of leaders whom they are loyal to. to give an example, one of the reasons why US planes could freely fly into venezuela with minimal resistance is because (according to NYT) the military there didn't maintain any of their air defense systems from the soviet union, because the money allocated for parts from russia was pocketed by corrupt military officials. so all those AD systems just sat their in their warehouses, inoperable.
