This is after several attempts to keep rates lower.

September 10 Operation: The Treasury bought back $5.187 billion in 10-year notes and 20-year bonds (out of a maximum $6 billion cap).
September 24 Operation: The Treasury has announced it will target up to another $6 billion in longer-dated debt.
Policy Shift: These operations mark a significant increase from the previous baseline cap of $2 billion per operation for long-dated debt.

Bessant bros what do we do now?

>>543158540
interest rates have returned to their statistical average. the only thing that's broken is the current federal debt-to-gdp ratio.

The 40 trillion in debt was renewed and accumulated at 1-2% interest rates.

There's no zooming out when the parameters charged.
5% of 40 is 2 trillion which is 40% of the 5 trillion collected in taxes.

You can't say look at 1990s or 1980s because those interest rates would bankrupt the country today because the debt is too high.
It's game over.

inb4
>it was over 15% in the 1980s
Yeah and 15% of 40 trillion is over the entire tax base being flame throwed into interest.
