Banning diesel exports would literally make everything more expensive. Crude oil is refined into multiple products simultaneously. You can't just "turn off" diesel production and continue gasoline production. So what will happen is that refineries will have too much diesel, can't store it all and oil companies will say it is too expensive to keep it. But, they can't just cut diesel production alone, they have to cut all crude oil production. This will, in turn, make gasoline, food, and jet fuel more expensive
>>543166070what the fuck are you talking about, you stupid nigger? no one is stopping production, the suggestion is banning diesel exports. are you genuinely a 70 iq inbred shitskin?
>>543166164Yes, and then the refineries will have too much diesel and can't store it all. Then they will cut production
>>543166164>this time Trump will help me for real
>>543166070>We're being forced to ban diesel imports for the first time in history in late September because of the three week military operation in MarchIs this what winning looks like?
>>543166070trump is a fucking child
Feels like just yesterday miggers were bragging that EU and SEA would run out of gas. Oh how the tables have turned.
>>543166070Cutting all exports indefinitely would be a good idea and pressure the rest of the world to step up but yeah I don’t see just diesel for a limited time doing anything.
>>543166070China did it, seems to work.
>>543166164here is why export bans historically dont really help keep prices low:1. companies are told they can no longer sell to the highest bidder2. comapnies refuse to lower prices just because the government says so3. they stockpile their product until the export ban runs out4. they ramp down production to avoid storage capsand/or alternatively4. they ramp down production to lower supply and keep margins fat, even with the reduced demand from only domestic consumption
>>543166400US is the #1 exporter of diesel in the world. the rest of us will suffer more
>>543166164>dumb retard still doesn't understand how interconnected the modern world isYou will not make it
>>543166070> You can't just "turn off" diesel production and continue gasoline productionCorrect, which will mean that the all of refining processes will be drastically reduced as result, leading to expensive jet fuels, regular gasoline, lubricants etc. - the refiners cannot exceed their domestic supplying capability, which is already limited due geographic realities (refineries being concentrated by the Gulf) and there are no cross-country pumping mechanisms. You'd literally have to drive a truck of diesel (during a general reduced output by those refineries) to wherever it's needed, which means there are no price reductions, but much further increases from today. But the worst comes after the ban is lifted - as the refiners have cut down the refining of all products across the board, the remaining supplies are exposed to international bidding immediately, pushing all prices high as shit almost overnight. And God know how long it will take for the refineries ramp up back to full capacity like they are running now. Most likely at least 6 months.
>>543166207I mean, if this really goes bad then this means that US consumers would have high gasoline prices next while diesel would be dirt cheap. As for me personally, I am fucked. I drive diesel. Here it's already at some 9 USD per gallon and now we are going to the Moon. Funny how a few things I had no control over can dictate so much in my life.
>>543166070He needs a headline to sell with a boogeyman to blame other than himself. It's what the perpetually stuck in highschool crowd does. Our president peaked in highschool, sad
>>543166758But the US is suffering too. Miggers have already switched to claiming things like beef are luxuries and you should just eat rice and beans.
Just checked the numbers BTW, US consumed less diesel than it produced by 10% so this is maybe risky, maybe not so much. But yeah, maybe its downright retarded because the market cannot decide share of fuel anymore and the consumption is stuck to refineries ratio in the long run.
If you find yourself in a hole, dig faster
>>543166615China has State control over their energy sector, and so they can actively lower prices. The US cannot
>>543166070who cares. i still hear two stroke shitters revving so it can go up much more. if young people can afford fuel for fun its still criminally cheap
Simply halting export does nothing.Freezing the price at an all time high does nothing. Now SOCIALIZING the oil price and selling it for cost would do something, but they won't do this.
>>543166070Trump 47 has really perfected the art of throwing out ideas so retarded that a person's brain short circuits trying to elaborate on all of the reasons why its retarded
>>543166164>>543166680There's no 'stockpiling oil products' - about 99% of the products pushed out of refineries are pushed into use right away.If the American refineries cannot export their diesel production, they can only load them into trucks for domestic road logistics to drive that container of diesel to wherever it's needed - and when it arrives in, it's far from cheap diesel. If that cannot done faster than any existing capacity is fulfilled (literally impossible), the only solution is to drastically reduce ALL OF THE REFINING processes, because there's no "let's lower the diesel production tap" in refining process. All of the refined products are created in the same process. The blowback will be horrendous, exacerbated by the ban's lifting & the immediate exposure to international bidding for that limited capacity.
>>543167481he might be a nazi and all but damn the climate folks are winning hard. no greens could even dream of achieving what this one man did by himself
This is all part of the plan.
But kikes and jeets on this board were telling me for weeks that there was nothing worry with the diesel prices in the US! That if you don't support this pointless standoff in the Middle East you must be a leftist tranny.
>>543166070Supply and demandIf they have too much diesel the price goes down
>>543167545you literally pulled that from ai from a washingtonpost article, you retarded nigger. the usa has the capacity to stockpile diesel
>>543168362The federal government does, the refineries don't - and federal government cannot load the accumulating diesel from those refineries to trucks to be shipped into SPR etc. faster than any existing storage in the refineries is fulfilled.
