Almost all MAID approvals are for terminal patients with cancer or debilitating illnesses and are usually over 75 years old.

Since it's discretionary and there's no central body it's up to the institution I guess some apply it differently. For sure there's odd cases and drifting but over all it's preventing people from suffering. It goes to show a lot more people aren ready to face suffering before death and are already ready to die when they get to the end. It's a legitimate question to ask. Are you ready to suffer or would you prefer an easy way out.

She decided to do it after her diagnosis of generalized cancer after battling multiple neurological problems that left her paraplegic for half a decade. She was going mad. You could see her mind fleeing away in the middle of a discussion. Only able to repeat she wanted to walk. Chimio so hard her mind was melted. I saw her the week before. The next week she was no more. I told her only one thing. If there's nothing after there's nothing to worry about. Getting old goes along with suffering. The body pay the price of your bad choices. MAID is a short cut to the end pretty much nothing more. The irony here is the vast majority of the peoples criticizing MAID or acting outraged by it would ask it if they can. Very few human are able or willing to tolerate suffering past a certain point. The maid debate is used to hide the failure of a medical system that treat humans like cattle. It's used to hide the solitude crisis. The mental health crisis. The SSRI and other neurotropic drugs fucking the population brain chemistry on purpose. My dad was living off OxyContin. He's probably one of the many Sackler family victim. My aunt was a victim of bad medical practice and medical error she could have worked again but they found the problem too late. But she would still have died of cancer a few years later.You can be outraged they used maid to die but behind every maid request there's a real human story. Was the old demented woman who just got maid story tragic? Yeah. Life is a tragedy. Chaplin was the only one who got it.
