Etc.You can have unlimited free time, which soon makes all your time worthless, often degenerating into a long depression, being nocturnal, socially isolated etc.At some point though, time passes and you wake up one day at 27 or 30, or 40 and realise whether willingly or not that you need to live.I've gotten a bachelors, I've held many jobs, never advancing much above the minimum wage, and often for not enough hours per week.The hidden cost is the lack of advancement, experience missed, falling permanently behind. I'm in my 30s now, I feel like I'm still entering the job market, doing entry level work suitable for a 20 year old.I earn a minimum wage, yet I wake up at 6am 5 days a week and work for half the day. I'm chronically tired, don't apply to nearly enough jobs to get a new one, and feel completely stuck working to earn just enough to survive, to go on living to keep working.I'm literally in the situation I avoided for nearly 10 years because I spent nearly 10 years avoiding it, and never progressed past it.Being NEET will always be there as an option, yet getting a high paying career? Enough to buy a home? Enough to have a family? It feels forever out of reach and only moving further away each year.It's truly devastating and I wish I had 10 years of time back to do it all again.
