It’s a decent option if you are between 18-27 or at an absolute dead end in life, but you have to have to know the downside risk (admittedly low risk but still) is literally dying as cannon fodder in some war. People think you’re necessarily safe if you pick the right job but when we invaded Iraq, we a lot of finance and logistics people died because we were forcing them to raid houses in towns like Ramadi.
