Today I want to introduce you to the spanish concept of a government bureaucrat career.>in spain, a common career and life plan is to memorize a massive useless wall of text (multiple textbooks) and if you manage it, you're set for life>things like learning a language other than spanish or getting a uni degree can get you bonus points in the exam, and it can be worth it. so needless to say, the wall of text they have to memorize and repeat is BIG>it gets you a comfy job in which you can never get fired no matter what, pay is half decent and better than most wagies, you basically work part time, and raises for inflation are guaranteed>you also get better terms for mortgages or loans, as people know your income is guaranteed>most typically, they are basically bureaucracy administrators in government institutions, like handling tax and permit related paperwork etc. however, govt jobs can range from being a doctor, nurse, or any type of worker/assistant at a public hospital or clinic, tax collector, police officer, firefighter (though those latter two focus on physical shape tests, idk if they have to memorize a lot too), public uni professor, public school teacher, judge, prosecutor....>they (the paperwork type, not doctors, cops etc) are sometimes hated in social media because they take multiple breakfast breaks / coffee breaks or even shopping breaks, or just dont bother to show up. their counterpoint is usually that they earned it and people are jealous that they can't memorize all thatNow if you got through all this you're a connoiseur of Spain, congrats. If you think it's too much text then you would stand no chance at the exam for those jobs.
