Crisis is already here, liberal democrats have low favorability outside of reactionaries to Trump. DSA and affiliates are getting support just from young people wishing to spite the system, they voted for Mamdani knowing he was likely to fail. If an alternative to legacy political structures came onto the scene that advocated for the working class and offered to both provide a lifeline to corporations relative to communists in power and promise to keep those corporate interests in line then it could carve out the middle. Surely corporations can see the writing on the wall and would submit to national socialist policies if its the alternative to figurative or literal death. They could see or be made to see that without some adjustments society is in a situation that has historically led to revolutions, civil conflict, asset seizure and other behaviors which would be bad for business and for people who held much higher wealth than their peers. A judgement and punitive action will come regardless but they have the choice to see it come on their own terms and in doing so show something like remorse or at the very least an understanding of the world they built and its consequences. This is better to me as many of these corporations could accelerate a second American renaissance by continuing to exist under a new paradigm rather than getting snuffed out by a Mao larper.
