Florida has a vibe. Not for me but it was the nicest deep southern state I've seen. There are little college towns scattered around these shit states that might be okay but I haven't been to enough to say.

I live in Oregon and I hate my government and Portland, but the state is too goddamn beautiful to leave. I like my town, I like my neighbors. I love that any time I take a 15-20 minute drive to the next town over, it's like traveling through Eden. It's so fucking beautiful here, it's a damn shame about Portland controlling the entire state's political destiny. It wasn't even that bad a city 20 years ago. Still liberal, but it had real character, a vibrant art scene I could appreciate. Not this lawless, degenerate shit that started in the early '10s.

>>543394401The food here in Oregon is pretty great. Lots of fresh seafood, and we have a long history of Asian immigration so we have pretty good Vietnamese and Korean restaurants. And Thai places too. That was actually one of the only things about Portland I liked: world class Asian food. I missed it when I traveled to work, to places like Utah, Texas, and New Mexico. Nothing but beans and tortillas and enchilada sauce. Steak was good in Texas, though.
