I was a philosophy and anthropology double major. I don't think anyone who has ever taken either field has thought they were going to make any money in the profession. Most knew the only path forward in the field was advanced degree then adjunct lecturer making a pittance. There exist people who take four year degrees for the joy of learning things. Most jobs you don't need a specialized degree for anyway. I was an army medic after college, got my loans paid off. Been a salesman for 15 years since.
