>>543461653It’s not as big of an issue as people think. Supermajority of the food is used for agriculture by big corporate farms. America grows so much grain that it’ll never go hungry. It’s mainly an issue for certain crops like Almonds or Alfafa which is used for cattle. In Phoenix for example, when farmland is converted to suburbs, it actually reduces water consumption. The new codes in Las Vegas, since its boom happened after the river treaty, make it so they don’t have an option but to carefully conserve water. There is a lot of room for improvement. Biggest issue is how it’ll affect municipal governments.If boomers can’t have giant golf courses and the country has less almonds and produce the Southwest isn’t going to collapse. People are being dramatic. It’s not great but not as big of an issue as you’d assume. Nobody is going to starve because of this or go without water in the cities or areas with water infrastructure.
