You don't need more than 30mbps. There is no practical difference between 300 and 30mbps.

Judging by how ISPs operate in other countries 100 mbps isn't the default speed, if you read your contract you'll likely see that there's a specified minimum speed your ISP is contractually obligated to provide, the 100 mbps in this case would just be the max value in that range.
