Report from Italy: Saddam Haftar, Deputy Commander of Forces in Eastern Libya, Met Secretly with Netanyahu in Abu Dhabi

The Italian newspaper Il Foglio reports that Saddam Haftar, Deputy Commander of Forces in Eastern Libya and son of Khalifa Haftar, met secretly with Prime Minister Netanyahu during his visit to the United Arab Emirates.

According to the newspaper, flight tracking data indicates that a plane used by Haftar landed in Abu Dhabi approximately 20 minutes after Netanyahu's arrival. A Libyan source close to the Haftar family claimed that the two men did indeed meet.

At this time, there is no official confirmation from Israel, Libya, or the United Arab Emirates regarding the meeting.

Not really, I just find the symmetry interesting. In economics and finance we often see graphs of different values in cadence with each other because the underlying conditions are clearly related. Maybe this is just a coincidence, maybe not. I like symmetry wherever I find it though.

Those desal plants would supply approximately 1% of californian water usage, let alone the entire colorado river basin. This shit is beyond unsustainable. Your problem isn't water supply, it's insane ultracapitalism raping the natural world posthaste and any pushback against it s muh gommunism.

America is going to produce the next Mao but on ultra steroids, hopefully he has some hitlerian characteristics at least.

Same reason that Russia sells fuel to anyone and everyone, including its adversaries - it wants to be seen as the supplier who will honour the terms of a contract no matter what. It's crazy but even now, Russia would sell gas to Germany to help power factories that would make drones that would kill Russians.

Turkish authorities have seized an Iranian passenger aircraft (pictured here) over alleged unpaid debts.

Iran Civil Aviation Org has confirmed that an Iranian passenger aircraft, operated by Iran’s Caspian Airlines, has been seized yesterday in Türkiye over an alleged unpaid debt of around €3m. The aircraft involved is reportedly registered as EP-KPB.

The Boeing 737-500, registered as EP-KPB, was preparing to depart for Iran with passengers when lawyers for the Turkish company and enforcement officers arrived with a court order.

Because Iran is weak. For all its bravado on /pol/, US can get away with flattening Tehran and other Iranian cities. Best Iran can hope for in return in maybe kill a handful US troops while further depleting their diminishing missile arsenal. They can't even keep the strait closed anymore. Iran's gasoline industry as well as economy has completely collapsed, and its only going to get worse for them. They have two options, either surrender or become the next Somalia/Afghanistan tier country of the Middle East.

He's doing it for himself, he wants to secure American assistance for him

Il Foglio: Saddam Haftar is seeking to build a network of political ties in Washington and Israel as he attempts to strengthen his position as a potential leader of a unified Libya.

The paper reports that Haftar secretly met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Abu Dhabi on Monday, citing flight-tracking data and former Haftar adviser Mohamed Buisier, who said the meeting was intended to secure Israeli political support for Saddam Haftar’s bid for the Libyan presidency.

Il Foglio also reports that Haftar is seeking a meeting with US Vice President JD Vance and is attempting to establish contacts with US Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle, while Ballard Partners is lobbying on his behalf in Washington.

The reported outreach comes as Haftar faces allegations over his involvement in a Libyan “terrorist cell” accused of attacks in western Libya. Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba has publicly accused Saddam Haftar of being behind the cell, while the allegations remain contested.

It's not new for the US to armtwist other countries. It's new for them to do it publicly, not caring that the often pro-American governments in those countries have to answer questions from their own people about why flights aren't being allowed to Tehran. Its so lazy and shortsighted by Trump's admin. Trump DGAF, he's going to be dead soon and he knows they'll curse him forever. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during a visit to the Tel Nof Airbase, says Israel has indications that its enemies may attempt to attack the country ahead of the elections:

In total, over the past few weeks, we have eliminated more than 100 terrorists, and that is only in Gaza. Of course, we are also operating in Lebanon. You remember what we did to the Ali al-Taher ridge.

There have been tremendous achievements, but there are also tremendous pressures, and the pressure is to withdraw, to give up the major achievements that were achieved through the bravery of our soldiers. I am not allowing that to happen, and I will not allow it to happen.

And one more thing: We have indications that ahead of the elections, our enemies will try to attack us. So from here, from the Air Force base, from the long arm of the State of Israel, I send you a message: Don’t mess with us, not now and not ever. Our long arm will reach you anywhere and at any time.”

>Btw there's someone speaking Louisiana French in the video, can you understand him or anyone speaking that dialect? Is it like an archaic forgotten language for you, or just like some isolated dialect that you can understand few words from it?
very interesting question
up to my grand parents generation, people in france still spoke local dialects every day, or as we call them in french: patois
louisiana french is a dialect in that regard, just like quebecois, depending the the dialect it can be pretty hard
quebecois is pretty close to french, outside of weird expressions and idioms it's very understandable
louisiana french is closer to old dialects, an actual louisiana guy i get maybe half of it, the old man in the video said surface level stuff, i get all of it, it's even very clear, it's not actual louisiana french, it's either a bastardized version of it (schools in louisiana tech french but not louisiana french, which is a shame) or someone from quebeck trolling, even the accent is off
some of our old dialects are almost undecipherable from french to the average modern frenchman, i know a bit of vocabulary and quirks from my great grandparents dialect but it's mostly getting lost

— Representatives from 10 countries — the UAE, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Morocco, Kuwait, Bahrain, Libya (Haftar), Oman and Egypt — attended the expanded portion of the Netanyahu–Mohammed bin Zayed meeting on Sunday, according to Israeli Channel 14, citing a senior Emirati official.

Netanyahu and MbZ initially met before officials from the other countries joined the expanded session.

The discussions focused on the Iranian threat, closer cooperation between Israel and the Gulf states, economic issues and Israeli defense systems.

I think the death of local dialects is a global phenomenon. Here in Iraq everyone is speaking what's known as "the Iraqi dialect" nowadays, which is just old southern Iraqi mixed with old Baghdadi dialects, and that happened due to urbanization and mass media. The local dialects just mixed together and created a unified dialect. But that wasn't the case during my grandfather's time. My grandfather was speaking a dialect that was literally named after our tribe. But the dialect started fading with each generation.
Anyways, I went on and on about the dialects. But I'm learning French and I was interested about the French dialects. Thanks for the info!

Hope you’re right. I’m just not that optimistic about it anymore. For example, there’s no reason not to keep launching attacks on the CSGs to loosen the blockade, unless Iran is seeking to de-escalate. Their biggest recent achievement has been the AA’s rapid advance in Yemen, but that seems to have stalled, and they’re even launching fewer attacks inside Saudi Arabia. Why wouldn’t they keep hitting the pipeline, which is now operating at 50% capacity? Maybe they have something in store for October, but we'll see.

Gadi Eisenkot, responds to Netanyahu's warning, hinting that it is election propaganda.

In a statement, they wrote: "If Netanyahu's statements regarding security threats are true, it requires an immediate update to the leader of the opposition, Yair Lapid. This is to ensure that it is indeed a real threat and not a political maneuver intended to harm the electoral process.
It is absolutely forbidden to involve the security of Israel and the electoral system. Not even superficially."

Look at the big asset management funds, they have trillions of dollars. Here's how it goes:
>Blackrock buys 50 million barrels of oil for $100
>Blackrock sells 50 million barrels of oil to Vanguard/Statestreet/Whoever for $80/barrel
>the fed and treasury print another 20 billion dollars, then use the bonds as collateral to create 20 billion dollars worth of debt money
>blackrock lost 1 billion dollars
>they get paid 2 billion for helping "national security"
This is how they have been keeping the bond market afloat since 2008. This is why blackrock went from less than a trillion in value in 2006 to somewhere around 15 trillion in value today. It's a scam. Also, Blackrock is the one who created ESG investing which halted hiring white men.

Jewsa literally can't afford to restart the war and it would cost them much to even attempt small scale "tit for tat" because last time a single burger missile caused iran to launch 30 ballistic missiles to jordan and that made the burgers waste over 100 interceptors and the burgers lost 10 warplanes, several helis, several depos and hangars and even some zogdogs who were moved to krautland for emergency.

IRGC Spokesman claims US Navy ships have withdrawn to 500 kilometers from the Strait of Hormuz.

IRGC Spokesman, Major General Hossein Mohbbi:

“Prior to the war, 30-40 US Navy warships were operating in the Persian Gulf.
Today, the situation has completely changed.
US vessels have now moved at least 500km from the Strait of Hormuz, making the current US threats an attempt to portray a clear defeat as victory”

Is there more information on this? Previously, it was always said that the UAE had built the runways on the islands. But I found it very suspicious that the saudis launched countless airstrikes on the islands after losing them. They definitely wanted to destroy some kind of evidence.

Teenagers broke into a yeshiva (religious school) in Jerusalem and stole 50,000 shekels in cash from the personal belongings of seven students in the boarding school. An unusual incident occurred tonight at the Be'an Yeshiva, located at 44 King of Israel Street in Jerusalem. According to initial investigations, the suspects are teenagers from the area who planned the break-in for a time when the students were at prayer. They entered the premises and stole a total of 50,000 shekels from the lockers of seven different students.

Nothing. The fact that they're not firing more is proof they don't need to and the Anglo media that's been howling with glee about a totally open strait have yet to show a single video of VLCCs sailing unbothered through it, despite the Strait being the most surveiled stretch of water on the planet. BTW they're the same Anglo media that's been lying to us and carrying water for empire our entire lives.

No oil for anyone if Islamic Republic’s security threatened, Iran’s parliament speaker vows

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has dismissed recent US statements on the Strait of Hormuz and (https://t.me/geopolitics_prime/74958) the passage of ships through it as “delusional” and baseless in a public address.

His key points:

US and other countries should know that “in a region where we do not sell oil, no one will sell oil, and if our security is not ensured, no infrastructure will be safe”

US efforts to impose a naval blockade, close air corridors, and squeeze Iran’s commercial arteries (https://t.me/geopolitics_prime/75065) “will fail with serious planning and management in the economic fields and military responses”

as a nation with a “brilliant and deep-rooted history,” Iran “should never be intimidated by siege and threats”

if the US fails to grasp this truth, “it will continue to be caught in the cycle of receiving heavy slaps from the Iranian nation”

in the face of further aggression, Iran will offer “a tough, precise, and swift response”

The contrast between the well finished runway and tower verses the much rougher bomb shelter says a lot about the planning and construction of this.
