I don't really notice and don't give a fuck since I rarely go out shopping and when I do it's a quick thing and only bare essentials. That's how I live. Really not sure how most motherfuckers basically live in fucking grocery stores and end up going every day multiple times a day and shit like that. God damn. Jut go once every three days and get in/out, but everyone who's broke as fuck somehow spends all day shopping for a bunch of shit they don't need.

Less than 5 years ago they renovated the whole front of the store to put in like 50 self checkouts. Then within 2 years they removed the whole setup and replaced it with 8 self checkout stalls on each side of the store. I assume it's a combination of under supervised self checkout's enabling theft, and the rise of people using walmart delivery/pickup.

I was a Walmart front end coach, they were planning to do this in 2020 but then COVID fucked up plans. The people in the customer service division assured other departments that shrink increases would be less than payroll savings. They lied and the divisions that actually do productive things took the hit. Then COVID came along and there was social distancing and supplies for shit like shelving were 36 months behind so all the remodels of front ends were pushed back to support other more profitable developments
