I got a real question for americans.Let's say Iran had developed nuclear weapons before us and were the world's #1 superpower and told us we were not allowed to build one or they would completely obliterate out civilization, would you think we need a nuke of our own or not?

The world is not fair, the strong take whatever they want from the weak, this has not changed for 10000 years, you may not like it but it is what it is. Currently the US is strong and Iran is weak

>>543484282not really. The USA only needed nukes to be a global power-player. Iran only needs nukes to be a regional hegemon. Most countries get by fine without nukes. USA, in your scenario, would probably be a relatively isolationist country, like before ww1. Also, countries (except for Pakistan, India, and Israel) agreed not to build nukes in 1970 (the NPT). Did USA, in your hypothetical, agree not to build nukes? If so, it's better to abide by agreements when you're able to.
