The previous low interest rates were allowed because of pensions using those bonds. They needed stable monthly payments not long term interest rates. As pensions have faded so does the rate need to rise as now its just an investment.

I make six figures but I have no desire to get married, reproduce or buy a home. I grew up poor and now even with my income it doesn't feel better. The only people I see having a good time are those with rich parents who can support them. If you're poor and have kids, you're basically sentencing them to a life of pure misery and servitude. America is not a place to build yourself up for nothing, you're either born rich or end up as a slave.

The thing is, you can manipulate almost every market in the world, except the bond market. It is far, far too large for any single entity to make a dent in, even the US government. Bessent tried, it's like pissing into the ocean and his effort got wiped cleaned in days. It's why they call the bond market the fiscal disciplinarian of last resort.
>>
>>543489478

The US rate isn't totally crazy considering a totally unhinged scammer Trump is in charge. Truss in the US was 20% as nuts for a single day, the markets forced her to resign.

Someone in the US should write a story for sure though that the US under Trump is less creditworthy then Vietnam

you mean if you watch a retarded peter zeihan video, meanwhile the markets are saying the opposite
fact of the matter is that us bond auctions are failing while there's an 8x oversubscription every time china offers a bond auction, bessent has been buying back bonds by the billions while china isn't, when people actually put their money on the table they put it on china's and say that muttmerica is fucked, no amount of shitty cia funded videos about china collapsing in 2 weeks will change that
>>
>>543489642
>>
>>543489507
Ehhh a concerted effort can make a dent remember bessent had to intervene in the yen due to Japanese selling of us t bills which was making them rise a fair bit
>>
>>543489507
The U.S. has manipulated the bond markets for decades. Their manipulation is only failing now because of the sky high debts making it harder and more obvious to the market.
>>
>>543489673
A concerted effort can delay the envitable for about a week. Then the market views that as a sign of weakness and make you swallow the steaming pile of shit two fold.

No, it has to do with China's savings rate. Both their lack of inflation and low bond yields are connected the East Asian's behavior of saving a ton. An ingrained psychological trait to survive drought, flood, and famine cycle that their region is prone to.

Average person stash their savings into savings account that pay interests, the bank buys safe assets like government bonds with them.

>China’s exports jumped 25% year-on-year to $401.44 billion in August 2026

This just means there's less faith in USD, which makes sense because interest rates have been hiked higher AND debt will be harder to pay back.
Which in turn, makes China the next option to trust >>543487766 (as we can see here)
The average joe in America doesn't make enough money, CC debt at ATH, car repos rocketing, and daily necessities like food, gas, utilities, rent, etc., have all increased while wages are stagnant. Not to mention job layoffs have increased, and many entry level jobs are outsourced out of the country. The signs of a collapse are there, and no matter how much damage control the US gov't tries to do, it's already too late, as the market is responding to it.
What will follow next is our market will collapse, jobs will continue to plummet, and putting food on the table will become harder, in which we can then see an increase in crime. Then it'll be blood on the streets.
What surprises me, though, is that the crypto market is still somewhat up there. I would have thought it would come crashing down, but either it's being manipulated, or we're seeing a hedge against USD slowly via crypto. Besides that, everything else makes sense.

On the contrary actually. Interest rates are so high for homes, that a 30yr mortgage in a simple 300k home doesn't even make it worth the investment. You'd have to wait a long time until the FED brings rates back down to pre-covid levels before the housing market becomes appealing.
>>543490984
>they are making lots of shit no one wants to buy, lol
Again, on the contrary, their chip and memory market has skyrocketed, making them the biggest supplier of the new age of tech. Big corporations like Apple, Samsung, Dell and even Microsoft are buying up their chips. So much so that they can't even keep up with the demand. Sad part about this is that the US gov't is actively trying to place limitations on these big corps from buying from China, and if they do place some sort of ban on importing chips or sanction China, tech will only go higher in price.

You do realize these countries can just, idk, sell off US treasuries to save their own asses, right?
Do you really think they would just sit in a sinking ship, doing absolutely nothing?
>>
>>543493020
that might give them cushion in the short term but in the long term they are screwing over their biggest customer who will never be able to afford to buy from them again.

the us is china's rich uncle who has been paying china's tuition for decades. now the us is terminally ill with cancer and the rest home is going to take everything, leaving china with nothing.
>>
>>543493296
I think you're assuming that holding US debt is some sort of favor to the US gov't. It isn't. Foreign central banks hold US debt because it yields interest and acts as a safe haven asset to protect their own currencies during economic crises. And selling those treasuries to support a domestic currency (like Japan for example) is simply utilizing a savings account for its intended purpose. So this little concept of yours "Chinas rich uncle" is flat out retarded. It isn't a chairty case scenario, as you're making it seem. It's business.
