This is the single equation that describes the failure of all human kind.

Human beings endlessly try to invent new technologies in order to fix the problems that technological advancement itself causes.

For example, we are now trying to fix climate change caused by previous technological advancement by creating massively energy hogging and heat producing AI data centers to generate solutions for the climate problems it itself is currently contributing too!!!!

The thing that will fix climate change is technological destruction, not advancement. Reversing innovation and going backwards to more sustainable practices of our ancestors.

The problem hasn't even begun to resolve itself. I hate humans. They have made life difficult for themselves and each other. They don't want help. They want solutions. I am here, to "solutionize" them all.

Why wouldn't you just write the second law of thermodynamics? Seems more fundamental.

>second law of thermodynamics?
Second law is relevant too.

Even AI agrees and has a hard time arguing against my point.

It's a spiritual problem, neither advancement or destruction will solve it.
Why wait, why trust, why question, why mature first before harnessing all those powers technology promises? We want the powers that correspond to wise beings, without first becoming wise beings, without practicing restraint, being able to do something but choosing not to. Oldest story in the book.

Is that technology or man?
We didn't have much technology thousands of years ago but still fell for the prospects.

>Is that technology or man?
its technique, which to define it crudely is a combination of the two, though not strictly limited to technological expressions.
call it the cumulative endeavours of humankind which expand to cover all aspects of being

Both the second law and OP's pic are statistical approximations of what is ultimately a quantum system. Quantum tunneling obviates Maxwell's demon.

Basically if you are worried about stat mech problems or even ΛCDM cosmology problems, you need to zoom out, unironically. Quantum behavior throws all that bullshit out the window on a long enough timespan. Penrose scratches the surface with CCCC.

the problem of mass and scale is not unique to modern societies. There is no previous state of human existence where this wasn't an issue. But when you say, "we must go backwards to more sustainable practices of our ancestors", you are recognizing a need for error correction. The mechanism for error correction is control and that itself is a technology? But why don't you have control, and what is preventing that?

they dont either, actually

>Life is merely an orderly decay of energy states, and survival requires the continual discovery of new energy to pump into the system. He who controls the sources of energy controls the means of survival.

>And when at last it is time for the transition from megacorporation to planetary government, from entrepreneur to emperor, it is then that the true genius of our strategy shall become apparent, for energy is the lifeblood of this society and when the chips are down he who controls the energy supply controls Planet. In former times the energy monopoly was called "The Power Company"; we intend to give this name an entirely new meaning.

There is also the rule of complexity - any complex system requires a system of greater complexity in order to manage it
