The US never went to war with or occupied those countries.Filipinos have weird mixed feeling about the US where they didn't like neocolonialism but also hate post war governments. They like English language. They have cousins in the USA. Overall, I wouldn't say they hate the US, just that there's some complicated history. They still have US bases there. The current government is more pro US than Duterte. Cambodia and Laos were bombed during the Vietnam War. They remain more aligned with China. Laos is still ruled by a Marxist Leninist government. Vietnam has a rapprochement with the US after the Vietnam War. They trade with both the US and China. They have security memorandums regarding the South China Sea disputes they have signed with the US.
