There's no stopping this. Eventually, either in 10 years or 30 years, all cars and trucks sold worldwide will be electric. The petrodollar will collapse long before that.

*All cars in regions where driving 500+ miles in a day is uncommon.
Europoors don't realize how far apart things are here.

Does that actually work when your country is mostly white?
>>
>>543538749
Are you typically driving 500+ miles daily?
>>
>>543538749
This. Look up studies of EV owners saying they will buy a second EV or go back to ICE.
There is a direct correlation to the size of the country they live in. Anything smaller than Germany or France, people favor EVs. Those two countries are the break-even point. Anything bigger, people prefer ICE.
>>
>>543538749

>>
>>543538749
Very, very, very few Americans are driving 500+ miles a day. It doesn't mean nobody is, but it is not the norm. At all.

Unless you are specifically referring to long-haul truck drivers, in which case I don't think over-the-road trucking is switching to electric any time soon.
>>
>>543538676
Oil is the only thing feeding half the population; or rather fertilizer made from oil. Without it, 4b would starve to death. Oil might disappear from cars, but it or products derived from it, are used in practically everything. Cars are only 20% of oil demand. Oil will be here forever and so will the petrodollar, at least as long as you are alive

Gas cars rely on economy of scale. When most people switch to electric, it will be more difficult to drive 500 miles in a gas car than electric car because most gas stations will have shut down.

It happening here too.

I couldnt imagine going back to gas. It's ridiculous. I have no oil changes, no spark plugs or bullshit to worry about. My biggest maintenance expense is new tires every 15,000 miles.

All in all I am very satisfied with my electric. I get the equivalent of a about 3 cents a gallon cost of you take the charge cost and divide it by miles driven.

The only thing thst sucks is having to plan long trips around where you can charge but for local stuff my Tesla holds a 400 mile range

I think you're confusing me with the market. I'm not disputing your use case -- I can't verify it, but have no real reason to doubt it. I'm just pointing out -- accurately, mind you -- that you are an extreme minority.

And judging from the elimination of CAFE standard penalties, it doesn't look like range extenders are in the cards, either. They just want you using more oil period.

EV sales are struggling in China too which we all know is "pioneering" the electric lyfe yet even there the EV cars only accounts for roughly 30% of the total vehicles.
In europe it's already starting to slow down, very few people bought into it outside of Norway where the EV market is basically a state affair. The only thing we obtained is many manufacturers basically cut their own balls off by siding with this forced electric transition themselves, others got fined into oblivion by Europe's green deal legislations.

They have already removed a ton of benefits from buying/driving electric and more will come.
Electricity is also getting extremely expensive.
And something about this statistic doesnt make any sense. Electric cars is maybe about half the cars I see out there.
On top of all this, it’s not a trend all over the world. Norway is a tiny country where the government did everything in their power to make us switch, only to start removing the benefits when enough people went electric.

fwiw part of reason Norgay goes EV is because they produce far more electricity than they need (and 98% from hydropower). The excess electricity is wasted, hence going EV is one of way to use that excess, other is some energy to material shenanigans (like hydrogen)

Norway is the only European Energy superstate that has both renewables & fossil energy. And EU is always persistent on dragging Norway into EU to leech it's rich resources while Norway already gets all the benefits in EU without being an EU member

nigga oil isn't needed just for personal cars. It does account a huge share currently, roughly half of oil production iirc, but that just means the economy will adjust when that share lowers. Airplanes, long haul trucks, cargo and passenger ships, secondary electricity production, etc. all consume tons of oil and if the oil consumed by private cars goes down these industries will absorb the consumption and become bigger. They are also not replaceable by electric motors, at least by current or near future tech.

Electric cars aren't as vulnerable to the cold as you think.
>>
The fact that all new cars sold are electric is for the simple reason, it will no longer be ALLOWED to sell fossile fuel cars within a few years.
Go to toyota.no
This is the options we have with Toyota models. Its basically shit. Toyota has a ton of great models, but only cars sold is electric. Lexus.no is the exact same. Just electric cars.

It has nothign to do with people not wanting other cars. Its the fact that new cars sold is primarily electric for almost all brands.
We have less models to chose from than Russia has.

The reason why they push gas and diesel prices to the roof also is because they want the degenerate low IQ enviromental agenda to kick in for full. Less people can afford fuel, and people then go for electric cars. Gas stations are being shut down because less people fill up their cars with gas and diesel.

And funny part is, enviromentalist niggers scream "oooooh there has never been more enviromental issues related to cars in Norway EVER". It just shows how fucking stupid people here are. With almost 50% of all cars rolling on these roads up here being electric, and perhaps 5-10% of the cars being before 2000, just show what bullshit this is.

But I think its okay. This country needs to crumble and meet massive issues because the only goals for liberal niggers is that they want to destroy societies while their low IQ brain think this is going to become great. We have seen marxism and communism in every single country out there. History has shown forever that they will never succeed and they end up being shot or hanged or arrested or whatever. Give it 10-20 years when energy becomes a massive issue here (because they dont want energy either because it destroy enviroment), and shit collapses. Thats when everything takes a 180 turn in desperation.

My biggest wish for this shithole is that the oil fund we have get demolished. That markets crash and that all the money people need for their welfare shit disappear. People here need hard times.

Yeah for the actual driving the cold doesn't really matter.
You lost maybe 10-15%

What DOES matter is the cabin heater.
Warm your cabin up from -40C to +20C and you lose a good chunk of the battery before driving even a single kilometer.
But this is easily fixed by pre-heating while it's still plugged in, so you leave with a warm cabin, warm battery and 100% charged battery.

A gas truck would only make sense if someone wants to travel while towing a home trailer and even then it boils down to a question of convenience (stop to charge more often vs fueling) than capability.

The biggest obstacle to owning an EV in US is still the presence of charging infrastructure and our overall grid capacity.
Personally, if the economy ever gets unfucked then I'll be looking to buy some flavor of hybrid because living in the sticks there are no charging stations here and I don't want to install one at my home because it's expensive.

In the case of norway going electric truly makes the independent from the rest of the world.

Grease thickens, oil thickens, you need to heat the interior using a heat pump. Fossil cars have a shit ton of waste heat so you can just take some of that to heat the cabin. An EV has no waste heat so needs to grab heat from the air (heat pump)--all kills efficiency in cold temps. My gas car drops from 24 or 25mpg in summer to around 20mpg (or less) in cold snaps in DJF.

provided you have a reliable base load electricity generation system with head room this is possible. you must also have infrastructure capable of incorporating the new. Norway is a bad example as it really doesn't mirror many other places.
in this country, where people distrust the state, being forced into EV's, even with attractive incentives, has not worked. the leasing firms, even with colossal discounts, are loading up losses like crazy because residual values are shit, if they can sell them. the dealership networks pre-register these things by the boat load to 'meet' targets and these brand new 'used' vehicles at heavy discount depress residuals even further.
nor do we have a reliable power grid to support it because much windmills and roughly 50% of properties do not have off road parking to charge at home. as a result Toyota were right and hybrids are more popular.
If the market had been allowed to introduce these cars more slowly without the Government interfering and setting arbitrary targets, we wouldn't have had airfields filled with unsold EV's and the vehicles would have found their place. Nor would we have remorseful buyers who find the expensive product didn't meet their needs and are unable to sell except at a huge loss.
The bizarre obsession with carbon dioxide has lead to many stupid decisions across Europe. It would be preferable to focus on pollution in its many forms. But in ClownWorldEurope it's easier to use the invisible gas and tales of impending doom to extract more taxes and socially engineer the livestock.

Norway is a rare example of a country that didn't spunk oil money on bullshit and has been able to fund this transition and likely thought carefully ahead of time about how to achieve it. That's as rare as hens teeth in western countries.
>>
>>543553171

it doesn't really feel like freedom at $4+/gal. Keep in mind, internal combustion engines can run on other fuels besides gasoline and diesel.

The creation and destruction of batteries is far worse for the environment. Children are involved in slave labor for the gathering of materials. Wrecking in an EV means you have a high chance of burning to death in a horrific way. You aren't even saving money in fact you pay more in the long run while making everything worse and also becoming a worse person while thinking you are better than everyone else. It's a sad state of affairs the propaganda that has pushed people into gladly taking an inferior product.

I don't think this makes a lot of sense. Most rural areas of the United States, like Maine, Kentucky, Indiana, etc. don't have any oil. It has to come in from somewhere else. At least with electricity there is the possibility you can generate it locally.

I guess I should admit that Indiana has ethanol (I think anyway, maybe they don't grow corn or sugar beets there), but you guys seem to hate that, too.

You really seem to hate most things that came about as a result of the Oil Embargo of the 1970s and logical economic self-defense within Western civilization. Which is interesting.
>>
>>543538676
EUpoid here.
Norway has zero tariffs on chinese cars (0). Ofc they are all electric. I wanted to buy an Xpeng P7+ and I have seen that it costs €30k in Norway but €45k in the EU because of out of this world EU tariffs. It's impossible to buy cheap electric cars for us EUpoids. Tariffs are the only reason for that. The hell with the EU.
>>
>>543553739
Leftoids pushing EV's pretend to care about such things and actively push for the destruction of western civilization for their replacement by them so it's generally a good point to make when dealing with their kind.
>>
>>543553831
Most of Western civilization doesn't have significant oil deposits, so buying oil is just an automatic transfer out of the country. I imagine you are trying to include the US within Western civilization, but as an afro-zionist entity that has done nothing but attack Western civilization for the last 100 years, this is confusing. I understand you have a perceived reality via political marketing, but it doesn't line up with actual reality.

And until the fracking boom happened, dependence on foreign oil was consistently identified by the national security apparatus as a weakness. It was not some partisan issue.

But rightoids are very adept at using terms like "we" "our" "us" when it comes to private, global market corporations that happen to have a corporate office or extraction permit within the administrative territory of the "United States" to confuse regular people into identifying the interests of the corporate entity as being similar or aligned with their own personal interests (which doesn't make sense unless you're a shareholder c-suite executive because your household is a net oil importer and you pay the global market price. this is not Iran or Saudia Arabia were you get it for like 10 cents a gallon).

You really don't understand the level of supply for car parts, do you? There's 10 parts stores within a 10 mile radius of my house, and I can always take an Uber if I need a part same-day.
In America, taking care of your own car is literally a male cultural skill like women cooking in Asian countries. The parts are dirt cheap and will be available past my death.
I guess your dad was a fucking loser NEET who didn't teach you basic mechanics. Unfortunate, onions boy.

They legislated refineries into other states through excessive taxation under the premise of "paying their fair share to the 'global warming' problem" (a facade of virtue and total bullshit)

Did you even know that the earth has been warming since the last ice-age and no peer-reviewed studies have been conducted to even try to ascertain the percentage of warming attributed to manufacturing?

Now try to conceptualize this factual cycle in your tiny brain:
1. Tree population explodes (due to tons of unused CO2)
2. Tree population exploded too much and now not enough CO2 for all trees, and overall low CO2 levels in the atmosphere.
3. Low CO2 = low "greenhouse gas" causing global cooling (eventually causing ice age)
4. Tree population dwindles to near extinction as we enter a new ice age.
5. Volcanic eruptions, oceanic fissures, etc. ramp up CO2 over loooooooong periods of time (hundreds of thousands of years). Earth slowly starts to warm out of ice age because there's CO2 again.
6. More CO2 being made than trees are using because tree population still small due to cold. Earth continues to warm.
7. Earth now warm enough for trees to thrive again, and with all that extra CO2 the tree population starts to explode again. This is also step 1.

A long cycle of CO2 overconsumption and CO2 underconsumption. All driven by tree population.

The fact is: global warming isn't the threat caused by excessive CO2. The threat is that we're basically growing the tree population beyond what it could naturally get to without extra man-made CO2 (there are more trees on Earth today than ever before). Fortunately, we won't live to see the early ice-age this will cause once trees start dying en masse because they're literally eating more CO2 than we could ever make because the tree population is higher than it could be naturally.

the chinese have achieved full vertical integration starting from the batteries and engines. It's called efficiency. The fact countries with no auto industry are still very rich demonstrates that you don't really need it unless it is super efficient. keeping chinese cars out of EU is just an act of sadism against consumers.

CO2 is good. CO2 is what all life depends on. More CO2 -> more efficient photosynthesis -> more green mass, higher crop yields.
Throught most of the history of the planet, CO2 was higher, and diminishing. Life was around during that ride. The earth was indeed warmer, with fewer desert, but that higher temperature was not a flat +10 degrees over the entire planet (that's retarded), it's just that higher latitudes were warmer. That's a good thing, more livable space.
You don't want the stuff most life is made of to just build up and get trapped underground forever. It's just fucking stupid. You want the stuff to be around and available for life to use it. Complex organic materials don't just stay around forever in the environment, eventually something evolves to be able to exploit that resource.
You are that something

Presuming there's still an electrical infrastructure at the national level.
ICEs are far easier to build, scrounge parts for, and maintain during periods of social upheaval.
If the grid goes down, how does one generate electricity to charge an EV?
ICEs can run on different liquid fuels, and can be made lighter and have greater range than an EV.

>>
>>543556835
It's for construction mostly, where batteries can't function properly. An ammonia based fuel cell setup would make sense as it would keep a system of high energy density, convenient filling options and a pretty straight forward supply chain once they get catalysts down. They recently increased the ammonia catalysts to pretty extreme efficienty, 90+% last I saw, so they will soon have the ability. The last step is just getting the ammonia moving, which is pretty straight forward.

Home use generators are powered by, wait for it, gas or diesel or ethanol. So congratulations, you've added a step in getting energy from the fuel to the road.

Steel industry requires massive quantities of oil. To produce it at scale is impossible. It will go back to being an incredibly rare and valuable alloy like it was during the pre-fossil fuels era.
>very little is used
They're byproducts of the oil industry. That's the reason they're so cheap because they're essentially waste products repurposed. Using oil just to make plastic will defeat the point of plastic as a cheap flexible material.
