Indian culture makes more sense when you understand that they have an inherently different concept of 'clean', both in terms of the conceptual purity of soul mind and body, and the literal cleanliness of their environment. Whereas elsewhere in the world cleanliness and purity is defined as the absence of dirtyness, and the ideal concept of purity is 0 filth in your presence, in indian metaphysics it is the amount of dirt you are putting on something else, and the ideal concept of purity is throwing infinity amount of your former filth in your neighbor's lawn.

I have always been nonplussed by class and other people's obsession with it.
