Reuters: Chinese refiners have suspended oil product exports for October to preserve domestic stocks, with PetroChina canceling gasoline and jet fuel shipments and Zhejiang Petrochemical skipping exports during the holiday week, further straining fuel markets already squeezed by the Iran war and Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries.

Beijing pause comes after Xi Jinping's Washington visit, where Trump urged him to help stabilize global fuel supplies, as the Trump administration separately pressed Germany and France to draw down emergency diesel reserves or face a potential U.S. export ban.

IRGC Aerospace Force commander’s adviser, Major General Belali:

One of the challenges we faced was striking moving targets with long-range ballistic missiles, and this was achieved in the past few days; in every operation we carry out, we improve the capability and accuracy of our missiles and correct mistakes. There will be many more successes to come.

The China situation is a little more nuanced than “China banned all fuel exports.” Reuters reports that Chinese refiners have suspended oil-product exports for October to destinations beyond Hong Kong and Macau, with the possibility that exports could resume after October 7 depending on domestic inventories and refinery output.

The U.S. Commerce Department has slowed export licensing for aircraft parts bound for China, while officials are considering new restrictions on landing gear and other parts, according to sources cited by Reuters.

The measures are intended to give Washington greater leverage in trade negotiations with Beijing.

Reuters: The Trump administration has slowed export licensing for airplane parts bound for China as part of a broader effort to use Beijing dependence on U.S. aviation suppliers as leverage in trade talks over rare earth minerals.

Officials are also weighing a new rule that could restrict landing gear and other aircraft parts, including hydraulic fluid, while China has sought years' worth of spare parts guarantees for 200 Boeing jets it agreed to buy, a request the U.S. has resisted, instead treating it as leverage of its own in the negotiations.

Reuters: Iran is preparing for a more severe retaliation if it is attacked, as diplomatic efforts face long-term challenges.

DUBAI, Oct 1 (Reuters) - Iran is preparing a broader and more forceful response if the United States resumes large-scale military attacks, sources said, while continuing a diplomatic push that Iranian officials privately see as unlikely to succeed.

The planning reflects a conviction within Iran's leadership that any renewed US campaign must be met with a stronger response than before, even as Tehran seeks to avert escalation through talks.

Senior commanders are reviewing plans to expand potential targets beyond US-linked assets to countries that support US military operations and possibly to locations outside the Middle East, according to three senior Iranian officials and an insider familiar with the discussions.

Since President Masoud Pezeshkian returned from New York last week, commanders and senior officials have focused on the scope and timing of any response if Washington strikes again.

there's actually a law that prohibits Trump from banning crude exports and the Repubs this year tried to enact a law giving Trump the power to ban diesel exports.
The other problem is that Mexico and Canada depend on diesel from US refineries and there is a treaty - the USMCA - that provides for free trade in energy products in North America. So even a total diesel ban to Europe would mean that firms could just export the diesel to Mexico which could then reexport the diesel to Europe.

Emirates, the parent company of FlyDubai and one of the largest airlines in the world, has announced that Israelis will not be allowed to board the company's flights to Dubai from other destinations around the world.

Significance of the decision: Israelis, for example, who are in Thailand and are scheduled to fly with Emirates to Dubai and then with FlyDubai to Tel Aviv, will not be able to reach Dubai and will remain in their original destination.

And oil is still below 100$.
It reminds me of the financial meltdown where, when we approached 2 and even 1% interest rates, most people figured they couldn't go much lower.

And then we ended up in bizarro land where interest rates turned negative and some people in Denmark could even get negative interest rates on their house loans.
The difference between that and oil is ofc that contrary to debt, the oil can't be imagined into existence.

So right now we are heading towards that 0 line quite rapidly, but this time we can't create the asset by having negative storage in the reserves.
When they hit 0 it is a bidding war for the last supplies/lots on the market.

According to a report in the magazine TIME, relations between President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu have become "more strained" in recent months, according to a senior source in the American government.

The report states that Netanyahu has pressured Trump to take military action against Iran, but has since complicated Trump's efforts to de-escalate the situation, including by attacking Hezbollah targets in Lebanon after Trump instructed him not to.

I actually think that demand destruction from price rises are going to kick in long before that. Maybe that is the gamble?
Slowly causing demand destruction to "manage the crisis" rather than getting a sudden 200$ per barrel oil price shock and total meltdown?

That is the trajectory, but even so, prices will have to climb when reserves hit 0 and circulating supply is squeezed.
It seems that the effect is just a lucky byproduct from a series of retarded actions.

they're not doing anything "slow" or controlled - they're trying their best to suppress prices and manipulate futures because they have an imminent political deadline to meet. As things stand, even if the Republicans retain control of the Senate, further funding for the war is in jeopardy and they're going to subpoena officials left and right and be a thorn in his side. Plus, it's certainly possible Trump loses the Senate as well and then things could get really spicy

— More from Trump's Time magazine interview:

Q: Regarding Iran, are you planning to escalate military actions after the midterm elections? There have been reports to that effect.

Trump: It's possible. We have many weapons.

Q: Last week, you said you might destroy Iran. That was the exact wording you used.

Trump: Yes, I would do that. It's possible.

Q: How can a president of peace call for the destruction of an entire nation?

Trump: Because by destroying Iran, we create peace in the world. With Iran, I don't think peace is possible.

Q: Initially, you said the war in Iran would last six to eight weeks. We are now in the seventh month. Can you explain why it's taking so long?

Trump: Only because I wanted to go further. I could have stopped then, but I want to go further.

A senior American official told Time that Trump spent hours questioning "Grok," Elon Musk's artificial intelligence chatbot, about his presidency and legacy.

Among other things, Trump asked "Grok" how the citizens of Venezuela would react if the United States were to capture President NicolĂĄs Maduro. After Trump saw celebrations of joy in Venezuela upon Maduro's capture, he was convinced that "Grok" was a "genius" tool, according to sources quoted.

>Trump: certain levels of inflation help pay off debt
He's not wrong. The level of inflation that is needed, has to be higher than the sum of (interest rate + yearly debt increase as fraction of the existing debt)
example: if the interest rate for treasuries is 5.5% and the new debt created is 1 trillion dollars vs 40 trillion of existing debt,
the inflation rate needs to be
larger than 5.5% + 1/40
= 5.5% + 2.5%
= larger than 8% if you want to solve the debt problem by inflation

“Over the course of last night and the early hours of this morning, a criminal organization entrenched within the justice system and the administration of a vital institution—the Public Prosecutor's Office—was dismantled; led by Roger Mariaca, it had turned into a criminal organization dedicated to fostering and protecting narco-terrorism in the country,” he said.

honestly, our passenger railways are a way to get people from point A to B as cheaply as possible. I took the train from Seattle to Sacramento last decade and that had way more picturesque scenery than anything along our rail lines which are built to be utilitarian above all else.
In some places it's quite pretty - sunrise over misty fields and such - but unfortunately there's a lot of garbage along train tracks since in most parts of the country there's neither dustbins nor a culture of using them.
In terms of well maintained natural beauty, I'd say the US is easily the most pretty country I've been to.

Agreed, but having gone to a few in the last year, there definitely needs to be some kind of test for handing them out to make sure your countrymen won’t jeet the place up

>BREAKING!
for the first time since the fall of Assad, Hezbollah diplomets met with Syrian government officials to discuss matters of regional security. Under Turkish mediation in Ankara, both sides agreed that is was in neither group's interests to have prolonged conflict with one another. Among the agreed upon points are as follows:
>Hezbollah will not interfere in the internal matters of Syria
>Syria will not attempt an unprovoked invasion of Lebanon under any circumstances
>both sides reneged on any mutual previous hostility and committed to further talks in the future
However many stipulations and disagreements remained unfortunately:
>Syria refused any attempts to normalize relations with Iran
>Hezbollah declined to comment on whether they would cease arms smuggling through Syrian territory
This is rather significant as it shows that Syria has been partially forced into detant with Hezbollah due to recent Israeli aggression in their territory. Iran, while upset it was not involved in the talks, has given the greenlight to Hezbollah for seeking renewed relations with Syria. All in all the biggest winner here, yet again, seems to be Turkey as they had been pushing for this meeting publicly since July, and it seems that Hezbollah may no longer rely solely on Iran as an ally due to the dire straits the group finds itself in and the use Turkey has for a distraction that Israel needs to focus on.

No mercy for anyone littering if you're talking about that but the loudly proclaimed ethos and repeatedly stated premise is a country that does not have racial discrimination. You're having trouble enforcing laws against felony theft because of your great reluctance to come across as racist. How are you ever going to ensure Vivek Vance's grandmom can't visit a national park because race?

no, its next to meaningless because there's not a significant market for currency exchange in iran and it only affects imports from China/inflation wise.

Hezbollah's situation is incredibly precarious, they have no other option at this point. Turkey has already in the past allowed Iran to send Hezbollah money through their land, so this is a necessary development if Hezbollah is to survive and re-establish deterrence against Israel in any capacity.

Oh yes, I immediately believe that hezbollah has joined forces with israel, and not that this is nonsense news intended to create division. It hasn't even been 24 hours since the syrian government claimed to have dismantled hezbollah-linked cells.

More kikery on the hijacking attempt.
So now, let me get this straight. We've gone from a Russian and a Ukrainian pilot to an Israeli plumber saving the plane.
We've got the pilot unlocking the cabin door and entering a hijacking code prior to being stabbed and incapacitated.
We've got software in the plane itself that should prevent such rapid dives, according to some guy on FB I saw who described it in detail.
How much more bullshit is being piled on here?
This story changes every 3 seconds.

— Three Liberian-flagged oil tankers, Al Ruwais, Mersin Prosperity and Sinbad, were hit by projectiles while crossing the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, according to shipping intelligence firm Marisks.

Two had recently carried out ship-to-ship transfers off Oman, while Sinbad had loaded refined products in Saudi Arabia.

Democratic “Socialists” of America originate from the exact same roots as Neoconservatives. Specifically, they grew out of anti-populist and anti-Leninist tendencies AND Western chauvinism against Third World countries implementing Marxist-Leninist governments to gain their sovereignty. They are "Third Camp" Trotskyists. Both Irving Kristol and Michael Harrington were disciples of Trotskyist Max Shachtman and this legacy is carried by the DSA today.

The ideology is also the same. Neocons despise ordinary people. Most neocons were former Trotskyists and Trotsky, likewise, HATED the working-class. Likewise, the godfather of Neoconservatism Leo Strauss saw himself and his students/cult followers as philosopher kings. He told them to view the vulgar masses of people as needing to be deceived so that intellectuals could maintain their power. This is largely because neoconservatism is an expression of Jewish supremacy. Jews believe they are the "CHOSEN PEOPLE" and seek to preserve their ethnocentrism and tribalism against the universal brotherhood of man brought into the world by Christ. You can't separate these things.

The Straussian cabal is very real and still holds loads of ideological power within American politics. It's my opinion that the DSA, in spite of claiming to be "anti-Zionist" and "anti-imperialist," are simply the next incarnation of the Neocons and will follow the exact Neocon playbook once elected. It's a known fact that many Neocons from the Bush II era have now since become Democrats and publicly supported Kamala Harris over Trump on the basis Trump wasn't Neocon enough (Bill Kristol comes to mind here). This must be exposed.
