i took some cuttings from a fig tree and put them in this pot. next spring im going to plant them in the ground and get figs to eat. are any of you anons also growing food?
I just want millions of blueberries and cherry trees. But the trees take at least 3 years before they start to fruit.

>>543586865The ADL is placing triangle markers on all antisemitic threads
>>543587013my blueberries made berries the 2nd year, i bought the plants at walmart for $9. you should plant a couple next spring. give them lots of sulfur because blueberries need acidic soil
>>543587013>But the trees take at least 3 years before they start to fruit.Money could sort that out for you.But I suggest you save the cost of buying "grown up" trees. You'll find that once you get into produce gardening, 3 years is NOTHING.I don't know about your climate, but if it's blueberry friendly, it's probably not to different from mine. So bare root fruit trees (the cheapest option) is NOW, and up until serious frost set in.Have at it!Politically speaking even the slightest "self sufficiency" is absolutely HATED by globo homo politicians and New World Order corpos, because it takes away some of the control they have over you.
>Grow my own foodIt's October.
>>543586865nice one. now this is what they dont tell you though: each one of those stalks you've planted is already gathering the nutrients it needs to grow leaves and shit! so all you have to do is suck on each one each day, and that's the same as eating its produce.

>>543587342My tomatoes are still growing
>>543587342Perfect time to plant trees.Leek works here too (they'll be one of the first things ready next year if seeds are put in late September to early October). But different climates and all that.Garlic planting is usually done just before the soil gets too frozen to work with even in the late afternoon, so, late November for that.Gardening is an all year event, even in places where it's 10 feet of snow for 5 months solid.
>>543587232Oh wow your quart of blueberries will keep you from starvation
>>543586865What kind of fig though, some varieties need wasp pollination.
>>543586865I, also, grow food. Not enough to live on, but every bit counts. Just to warn you... the israelis will not like this thread. They can't have self-sufficient people living in a stable society, that would be antisemetic.
>>543587534Not mine. My garden looks like the apocalypse.
>>543587536i order my trees online and they are going to ship dec 14. i paid around $20/tree after the 15% off coupon, how much are bare root trees there?
>>543587620chicago cold hardy. i have lots of wasps around. here is its mother plant
>>543587778The summer is too cold by far for figs here. Cherry works, but not that well. Further south is better. So there isn't much bare root request for either. We've got excellent apple climate though, especially for "crisp and tart" type apples. My local bare root tree pusher do a mix-10-for kr 950 (USD 144) shipping and taxes included in price.Sold out for autumn planting. But you can do bare root in early spring as well (at least here)
>>543587778Where do you order trees from? It never occurred to me to order online. I am hoping to get an apple tree in the ground this weekend or next. This way, the apple israeli will starve of shekels.
>>543588383You may want more than one.A lot of the very best apples need to be pollianated by a different type of apple tree to work.(you could put something like Malus sargentii as a corner plant in your hedge if you only want one 'real' apple tree, that one will cross polianate ANY apple tree that needs it - I think most crabapples will, I just like that one)
>>543588383i searched the whole internet for the best deal and found these guys. ive bought 14 trees from them and my peach and plums already have produced fruithttps://www.tytyga.com/Red-Haven-Peach-p/frupeac-rd-haven.htm
>>543588702I'm in "New England" and grew up with apple trees. My house doesn't have any, so I'm probably getting a classic apple breed. They tend to do quite well here.>>543588882>14 treesThat is a lot. You must have nice property! Thanks for the link.
>>543587128Omg the gay markers ARE JEWISH?!!!
>>543587275>bare root fruit treesThanks for that key-wordhttps://www.sccdwy.org/plant-store
>>543590280No worries. And don't be discouraged by the whole "out of stock" thing.Bare root is for the patient with tight budgets, so they are mostly made-to-order.If you place requests now, they'll probably have some ready for spring planting, certainly for next fall (and in most climates, bare root planted in spring don't get much of a head start over those planted in autumn the same year unless you REALLY look after them)
>>543590280alot of states have tree extension office where you can order seedlings for cheap. picrel is what arkansas offers
>>543586865I tossed a ginger root outside because i thought it went bad and it's a plant now. I guess the root I tossed is still there. I could've just eaten it before but now I can dig it up and still eat it I guess.
