ITT: complete military disasters
>>
>>543592482
If you're implying that this war is a bad idea or that Trump didn't make the right decision. You're just brown and that means I can dismiss anything you say. How about that???????? Huh!?
>>
>>543592482
>>
>>543592482
>>
>>543592483
Calling it a bad idea or ill advised is one thing. Calling it a complete military disaster is just delusional, though
>>
Stalingrad is still my favorite because it was a disaster for all involved.

Iran is going to last at least another 3 years, Trump can't end it without looking even stupider and whoever comes after him can't end it instanly without that also looking bad because it'll take reparations to maintain free passage through the strait.
My guess is whoever comes after spends a year destracting everyone from the war then ends it by paying Iran and has another 2 years for people to forget they paid Iran.
>>
>>543592486
A complete strategic disaster is very likely, a complete military disaster is very unlikely.
>>

Yes, I know we've won like thirty different times already and eradicated Iran's capabilities a bazillion times over and that they desperately want to make a deal RIGHT NOW (for the nth time), but this is just another unresolvable forever war, isn't it?
>>
What blew up this time?
>>
>>543592490
The graveyard. They're coming for your calcium
>>
>>543592486
>start war
>after using up most of your good ammunition in an unrelated conflict
>run out of ammo
>get your bases bombed revealing that your air defense sucks
>forced to abandon them
>one of said bases was your primary naval supply point
>this spirals into a supply crisis on your newest nuclear carrier because it was already on extended deployment because you are too slow to build carriers and also you're short on oilers and also you're short on everything else
>the crew throws a fit, the carrier has to go into emergency repair
>have to pull a different carrier from the Pacific, leaving a capability gap open there for the Chinese to laugh at
>oil prices spike, giving your main adversary a giant cash windfall
>show the entire world that you can't take one 3rd rate power after posturing as the lone global superpower for ~3 decades
>nobody takes you seriously anymore
A complete military disaster would involve more ships sinking, but this thorough military failure has spiraled into a comprehensive strategic disaster.
>>
>>543592487
>3 years
No. Iran cannot last that long and Americans will refuse to keep paying for that long. 10 months, tops.
>>
>>543592482
Real talk what is the /k/ope for the Iran war? This just looks like the Ukraine war or the Iraq war to the normie eye.
>>
>>543592493
>Americans will refuse to keep paying for that long
Why do you think the opinions of the population matter in the short term?
In the long term politicians can see that being against it is a way to win elections and slowly replace those that support it but in the short term there just aren't elections often enough for public opinion to matter.

Lets say in November Dems BTFO the GOP, why do you think they would turn against AIPAC?

irankeks...what's happening? I thought we had it all figured out...
>>
>>543592492
this is the US military's MO; tactical dominance and strategic defeat
>>
>>543592494
There are a few retards still pretending it's going great but I think the majority here understand it's fucking retarded and was just being best goy for Bibi while he claims Iran will have a nuke soon for his 30th year.
>>
>>543592492
Hyperbolic and also funny that
>You had to swap one nuclear carrier for another and pay more for gas!
Is the measure of a full strategic defeat for Americ.
>>
Why are the BRICS bros seething today?
>>
>>543592495
If things continue at this rate for years you will see politicians killed.
>>
>>543592494
>the Ukraine war or the Iraq war
>implying
>>
>>543592482
God Bless Trump. After this America may finally ditch israel for good.
>>
>>543592488
>>543592486
Not OP but, If you launch a military operation on the basis of trying to resolve your strategic aims and you fail to accomplish said aims with that said military action, then that is a failure. If your military fails to achieve its strategic aims then that is a strategic military failure, regardless of whether the military accomplishes its tactical goals.

That being said
>>543592482
I don't think you can really call Iran a "complete military disaster" similar to how you can't really call Vietnam a "complete military disaster". A "complete military disaster" would infer both strategic as well as tactical failures with non-positive results whatsoever and the total destruction of your military force.
>>
>>543592504
A military victory with a strategic defeat has been the MO for decades at this point.
>kick the door in
>BTFO conventional forces
>install puppet government
>population fucking hate you
>insurgancy continues until US politics changes enough they are willing to seek peace or just leave

Honestly I think the main issue is the US has a powerful military that can BTFO any conventional force on earth which makes the civilian leadership think military force can do anything.
The Hill seems to be full of people that think you can invade a country and have the people now living in a warzone like you. Imagine Russia actually takes half of Ukraine, would the Ukies living there be cool with that?
>>
>>543592496
Turns out the "if you all go at once they can't possibly hit all of you" strategy actually works.
>>
>>543592496
>no source
Not saying you're full of shit, but you're full of shit until you sauce your post.

So Iran and the US are both blockaiding it yet 80% is getting through.
Honestly sounds like some back line deal where both governments get to pretend their still blocking it while both let it flow.
This is good for Iran because money and good for Trump because energy prices leading into an election.
>>
>>543592508
Thanks.
>>
>>543592505
It's more that "hearts and minds" isn't a valid strategy against a population that already hated your guts before the war began. The only solution involves copious amounts of war crimes and/or mushroom clouds but that's obviously not an option.
>>
>>543592509
>So Iran and the US are both blockaiding it yet 80% is getting through.
That 80% refers to non-Iranian ships. Why do you think they've chimped out so hard over the past few days?

>So the oil market remains at an impasse: an increasingly taxing US military effort keeping up an unsustainable status quo that continues to keep prices high for businesses and consumers.
>>
>>543592492
>>after using up most of your good ammunition in an unrelated conflict
What?
>>
>>543592516
more or less, though I'm not sure on the exact costs both economically and politically. but it can be true both that this is unsustainable and that it is actively shifting towards the US' hand (after many months)
>>
>>543592511
When dealing with thirdie dictators I think you could win people over by being better and pretending for at least a decade you aren't just their to steal their resources.
Say you took over Iran and instead of instantly giving the extraction contracts to US companies and sending the profits to an account in Qatar you left it nationalized.
Then instead of being a typical thirdie dictator and buying 300 gold lamborghinis you put that money into improving their quality of life.
Within a couple of year they would fucking love you and after 10 you can quietly privatize 20% of the nationalized oil.
This way you boil them slow instead of making it clear you are just there to rob them on day one like Venezuela.
>>
>>543592518
We'll see. I'm just glad people in the US military are dying.

>>543592519
Preventing nationalization is the entire point, though. That's why the empire overthrew the Iranian government in the 50s.
>>543592527
I'm just glad we both agree it's good when people who work for the Epstein Empire die.
>>
>>543592519

I mean, to an extent, yeah. Not when people have the demise of your country as part of their religious imperatives.
>>

Yeah I know we have had 2 governments couped by the CIA, that's why I hate your government, you act like ziggers.

I am a third world sympathizing communist because I oppose the capitalist Epstein class the exploits every aspect of this planet for their own benefit. They exploit the land, they exploit labor, and they sexually exploit children. It's a barbaric, savage ideology based theft and rape and murder, around pillaging and terror. And you support it.
>>
>>543593339
You sent ~10% of your stockpile, the other ~60% have been used to defend Israel.
If you want to blame another country I know which one I would pick.

>>543593368
So calling the war retarded makes you are thirdie or a commie but you think the war's retarded?

Israel and Ukraine are both proxies for the Anglo-American capitalist crime syndicate.

Israel owns the vast majority of US politicians, Ukraine was just attacked by a geopolitical rival of the US making them an "enemy of my enemy" situation.
The same will happen if China goes for Taiwan, it isn't that Taiwan holds power over the US it's that it's in Americas best interests to make Chian bleed.
>>
>>543593710
Zionism existed before Israel existed, and it's been pushed by the Anglo-American capitalist empire for centuries. Who actually created Israel? Who funded and goaded Hitler into power?
>>
the jewish mods of /k/ are unhappy with these threads. Anyone mentioning their military humiliated gets removed, lel
>>
>>543593850
Hitler came to power with the backing of capital because socialism was gaining popularity and he just larped as a socialist until he took power and instantly privatized banking.
The holocaust just created the political will to found Israel and was exploited but not some part of a great plan by jews to have a heap of them genocided so they could get a state.
Basic exploitation of disaster same as 9/11, the patriot act, Saddam and the surveillance state.

/pol/ threads are demonstrably allowed there just not the ones that mock the Jews, US and all their vassals. Mocking their adversaries/victims is fine.
What part of that place being a "groomed kike board" did you not get? The moderation there is comparable to moderation on Reddit - whatever suits their agenda is right.
/pol/ is infested with shills but at least it's a somewhat contested zone.
>>

I think the DSA gaining traction is the first good thing is US politcs for at least 50 years but we are seeing the corpos doing everything they can to crush it.

>>543594596
I'm on /k/ the vast majority of the time, when the US wakes up /pol/ threads are generally deleted / moved.

Germany is an occupied vassal state of America. It has tens of thousands of American soldiers on it. Do you think America was not involved in this decision? Particularly when the jews in America, Kagan and Nuland did everything possible to create this war (i.e., by instructing Zelenskyy not to surrender or negotiate in 2022).
>>
>>543595496
So you think the US sells arms and then can demand them back, the buyer has to comply and the US continues selling arms to anyone ever?
Yes the US is the big dog and they have a heap of political influence but that has limits.
Why do you think the US can't fly over Spain, Switzerland, Italy, France or Austria to bomb Iran right now?
