it turned out pretty nice, you should bootstrap you a house like his. only $500 to get started

The whole video is bullshit. Straight off the bat you know they're wealthy rural dwellers who have a lot of land. Second, there's no way all the materials cost under £5000. Lastly, there's no heating or infrastructure. The place would be like an ice box and probably bad for your health.

I have a real house, not located in my parent's back garden.
Although, in some cultures it is pretty common to create a kind of 'compound' where each family member builds their own house on family land. Kind of a cool concept, but would not work in the West

>"builds a home" on land he does not own
>actually he's just living in a shipping container on his parent's estate

If my parents had enough land for me to plant a lorry trailer on I probably would. Or a disused bus. For what it's worth, I do, but most people also don't have access to what seems be a large fully-equipped workshop to do the necessary work

His parents will be landed gentry, if not outright Aristocratic and this will be a thinly veiled way for the family to advertise something - most all of the families from this demographic must seek alternative means of income these days and whatever that may be, it's usually brought to public attention via a fucking channel 4 documentary.

The same happened on the cousin side of my family last year - they inherited the estate because my GG granduncle was a homosexual fellow and the line of succession hopped over to their side rather than going to my GG Grandmother. Running these places is difficult and if you get a channel 4 feature, it's free advertising for your events venue / ecologically green start up / artisanal cheese making
