Ukraine and Iran indicate that WW3 will consist almost exclusively of civilians and their infrastructure being targeted by drones, artillery, and long range missiles, with blockades on food and goods where possible. The peasantry can't be induced into a war fervor, and the State lacks the means to forcibly conscript enough soldiers to feed a meat grinder. Conventional warfare isn't working against the drones anyways. I think they will give up on the idea of a conventional ground war altogether.The war goal will be to induce the opposing State's population to "rise up" against their government. Whatever replaces that government will have to be a puppet of the victorious State, or the war will resume. You instead sign a contract with someone else, whereby you gain the right to strip mine their land, and you give them a pittance in return.
