Was the Battle of Gettysburg worth it? Over 8,000 of my White Christian bretheren died there over three days of the worst kind of fighting. The South was effectively cockblocked by my Yankee ancestors in that town there, and the Confederate forces never moved any further North after that ass beating (bc they were cowards). We here in PA take great pride in knowing our unique history at that period of our Nation's history, but I'm still on the fence. Where they on the right side, of history, /pol/??
Lee was ingenious. The feldmarschall Douglas Haig of his time. The Luigi Cadorna of his time.

>>543621717That's not what the civil war was about. But you keep going ahead and believe in that bullshit
>>543621586What genius? He was overly aggressive at Gettysburg, going for a direct, frontal charge of overwhelmingly dominant positions, dooming his campaign.

>>543621772I mean, yes, a good chunk of it. Its just the issue behind that is it was basically a tool used to club the nation while the right people ended up with all the money and land with the bonus of inflicting a societal ill on a people you seek to conquer. It was jews playing armies with their super cool goy soldiers. All that death, all that misery, all that insanity that anyone with any sense is ruing to this day.
I also wanted to say I went on 3 school field trips growing up about an hour away and can confirm, you can really "feel it". The place is dark. Haunted AF. The cemetary is full of energy that can not be explained you'll have goosebumps the entire time you're there. Any one else know what I'm sayin?
>>543621901-700 izzat
>>543621531It was a good effort. And not bad for an army of literal rabble. Just shows what a motived and well trained small force can accomplish.By all military logic the South should not of survived 6 months given it's economic and manpower problems. The fact that it not only survived but managed to invade and seriously threaten Washington in a bloody campaign is something else.
Also lee was a great admirer of napoleon. He obsessed over every aspect of the Napoleonic era. No doubt this played a huge role in all his victories.
