is Chrisianity the only religion to have it's holy days infantilized to a high degree?
ie
>Halloween (All Saints Day Eve) is costumes and candy
>Easter has the Easter Bunny
>Christmas is Santa Claus and toys
etc
or am i looking at this from a Western view of ignorance

>>Halloween (All Saints Day Eve) is costumes and candy

The Celtic New Year, celebrated on November 1, marked the end of the harvest and the start of the dark, cold winter. The Celts believed the boundary between the living and the dead blurred on the night of October 31, allowing ghosts, spirits, and fairies to cross over into our world. Druids lit massive ritual fires, and people relit their home hearths from the fire for protection during the winter.

>>Easter has the Easter Bunny

The 8th-century historian Bede wrote that the English month Eosturmonath (April) was named after a spring goddess called Eostre, whose festival celebrated the vernal equinox. Hares were viewed in ancient folklore as symbols of high fertility and abundance, whereas symbolized birth, creation, and the renewal of life.

>>Christmas is Santa Claus and toys

Odin was believed to ride across the midwinter night sky during Yule on his eight-legged horse, Sleipnir. Northern European Yule celebrations involved large bonfires, heavy feasting, and burning a Yule log to welcome back the light. December 25th falls near the winter solstice, a time when ancient cultures celebrated the return of longer days and sunlight.

All Pagan traditions, not Christian.

It's the jews
They hate Christianity and want to secularize all Christian religious holidays

is there a Christian prohibition on celebrating season changes?

Protestants also don't believe in Saints so the date means nothing to them.

>is Chrisianity the only religion to have it's holy days infantilized to a high degree?

Halloween was created to replace the Celtic holiday of Samhain.

Christmas was created to replace the Roman Holiday of Saturnalia, we really don't know what date Christ was supposed to be born on.

Easter is placed on Sunday after the lunar new year.

In each case the Holiday was made to replace a pagan ceremony. The traditions are based on the seasonal pagan holidays they replaced. The Easter Bunny and Easter Eggs both being symbols of fertility associated with spring festivals for example.
>>
>>543622580

I mean they're Christian holidays; but the dates are taken from earlier pagan ceremonies. The Christians didn't want to force people to abandon their seasonal holidays they enjoyed; but they also couldn't have them worshipping pagan idols so you got Christianized versions of different holidays.

Look at the Day of the Dead in Mexico. Its layered under Catholic symbols; but its basically Aztec ancestor and skull worship at its core.

in Europe Christmas was called Yule after the winter solstice festival, that's still the name for it in Scandinavian languages (Hyvää joulua, Glædelig jul)

Imagine being pagan and having aspects of your religion jewed by turning them into Christian shit.
>>
>>543622697
>but the dates are taken from earlier pagan ceremonies
That is a misconception

The Easter date is based off the Lunar cycle indexed to the spring equinox, which is why the date changes every year by up to a whole month.
Pagans never did that

Christmas on the 25th is not indexed to the solstice at all. It's merely around the same time. Ancient Saturnalia holiday did not celebrate on the 25th if I remember correctly it was actually finished the week before.

>The Christians didn't want to force people to abandon their seasonal holidays they enjoyed; but they also couldn't have them worshipping pagan idols so you got Christianized versions of different holidays.
There's probably truth to that but the dates do not line up at all. They're merely around the same time.

>Look at the Day of the Dead in Mexico
I don't know anything about that

Moses never existed, yet your dead rabbi claimed Moses "prophecized" his birth. It's impossible to get lost in the road to Canaan was clear from Egypt. There was no getting lost in the Sinai desert of Arabia. There was a trade route from Egypt to the coastal cities of Canaan. The narrative device, a god keeping someone lost for years because the hero anger3d them, was stolen from the Odyssey. Because the torah was 'compiled' in the Hellenistic Period.

The torah / old testament is judeo-supremacist historical fiction. Egypt never enslaved 'Israelites', there was never an 'Exodus'. There was no monotheistic yahwehist kingdom in Judea prior to the Persian Intervention. Yahweh started as a storm and war god in a pantheon, with a consort.

The kikes came to Egypt as the Hyksos: parasites. They immigrated until they took over as a dynasty, until the natives had enough if their shit and deposed them. Exactly the opposite of the biblical bullshit narrative.

Most of the Christian holiday traditions originate from other religions and cultures. Jesus was a real person, but we don’t really know his birthday. December 25th was chosen to align with the winter solstice. Most of our rituals are nothing more than that. The commercialization, or infantilization of the core principles of the ritual are a product of social degradation, which some Jews play led a role in. Consider this, it’s not that hard to not be hypnotized. You have to want to be hypnotized. So if most people only like the holidays because of candy, presents, and eggs; that says more about the average man than the people behind the curtain.

those aren't the biblical feasts. the apostles and the early church fathers did not celebrate Easter or Christmas. don't get too excited, there's plenty of talmudic jew holidays that aren't found in there or observed either. just stick with what's in the book, man

All Hallows Eve (31st October) is the night before All Saints Day (1st November). Catholics go to church the next day so the night before they would remove evil spirits. This date also coincided with the autumn festival Samhain. They use pumpkins because they are from America, in Ireland and Scotland they used to use turnips. The only place that still does it is Isle of Man where it's called 'Hop-tu-naa' (Celtic New Year).

These are just warped pagan holidays infantilized by christ cuck society. Its the only way they stuck around. To be innocent little traditions that cant be stomped out by the faggot church. You are right they should be taken more seriously.
>>
>>543623323
the Manx are/were usually Protestant too (Anglican) although their language is similar to Irish so they maybe wouldn't have minded it as much as in Ireland where they were Catholic. some people like these festivals, some people hate them. this is the only festival some Christians have a problem with and like I said, it's the day before the Christian one

in Europe they do overlap with pagan holidays, this isn't hidden at all because
>it's mostly Catholic and Orthodox which tolerated it, sometimes encouraged it. Protestants are mostly in America or Africa
>it's been communist for so long nobody cares, but even before they were traditions
>the festivals come from here and were originally intended for harvest seasons/farmers

like Christmas is literally called Yule in Scandinavian languages >>543622820

what some try to do nowadays, is prove the Christian festivals themselves were from pagan origins. like if Easter was just Jesus's rebirth with no eggs or bunnies, it would still be pagan like the whole Christian religion. this is mostly confined to internet atheists and muslims.

>Muslims never do this, their religion is pure

look up Shia and Sufism
>>
>>543624125
>I wonder what about us makes us so fascinated with the day of the dead.
Increased secularization tracks pretty well with an increase in the belief in ghosts, spirits, witchcraft, and other Halloween spooks. Abandoning Christianity doesn’t turn people into militant materialist atheists.
>>
>>543624255
Coloring eggs literally comes from some old euro tradition of young virgin girls giving colored eggs to guys from a basket.
>>

wring, it comes from the blood of children to coat eggs to worship molech.

Yes. Talk to the Orthodox, they take their holidays very seriously.

Think of it this way, you start a very successful book club, then some retards join and start including comics and then some bigger retards join and now it's all about pokemon.

the form of Halloween in America looks like 'Dia de los Muertos/Day of the Dead' from over here, whatever it has turned into. maybe the tolerance of overlapping a Christian and Aztec pagan festival just looks strange and unique it coincides with Samhain because they're Catholic. Halloween is its own thing from the USA, it's not even Christian anymore because most of you are not Catholic so don't celebrate All Saints Day. your local church does not believe in Saints because they don't have the power to canonize anyone.
>>
Christians are all lunatics, midwits and addicts
>>
>>543622113

>>
>>543624255
Speculations without evidence mean nothing.

>>543624864
Dia de Los muertos is not a pagan festival. It’s 100 years old and was made up during mexico’s dumb cultural revolution where they tried to ban the Catholic Church and Santa Claus for being too gringo.
>>
>>543624864
Halloween is a seasonal autumn holiday because of the orange, that's all it is. this thread is not relevant to the US.
>>
>>543624927
then maybe Mexico copied Samhain and turned it into that, they had Irish immigrants too
>>
>>543625046
Again, speculation without evidence means nothing. 19th century polemics from historically illiterate prots trying their damndest to fling mud at papists, potatoniggers making up a national mythos that isn’t just getting dicked to high heaven by the English, and modernist post-Christian anthropologists like James Frazer trying to build a mythos for the scientific revolution are not evidence. They’re stories you tell to children.
>>
>>543624668
Nobody actually knows when Samhin occured. It likely occured in the winter. With Catholics, there's the tradition of soul cakes and the French dressing up as the dead for the souls in purgatory. If anything, dressing up as the dead is a way to mock evil.
