The world got caught up in this idea of "Being against terrorism means everyone MUST have democracy" and so men like Hussein, Gadafi, and Assad were ousted for the terrors they committed against their people...when those regimes were the ones keeping jihadists at bay. The US/West decided to try to solve a problem that wasn't theirs in the first place. And it's had awful consequences.
