Personally I'd rather people be locked up for life as opposed to killed. Covers those that are wrongly persecuted. You dont have to stoop to their level and we have the means. Plus losing your freedom is pretty shit so its not like they arnt paying for what they did. And if the person who lost family etc to their deeds is that commuted to returning the favor they always have the ability to intervene at least early on. But yeah bleak all around.
