WTF is this nova shit? Why the fuck are companies randomly changing the UI? What purpose does it serve? This shit is almost as annoying as samsung's constant UI updates.

Please for the love of jesus stop changing the UI randomly on me. It just pisses me off. Just leave it alone. LEAVE IT ALONE.
>>
>pozzilla firecux
Even the most sycophantic user dropped that browser by 2020. What the fuck is wrong with you?

this theme restores the color to the old way it looked
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/firefox-proton/
The roundedness is still present but at least the distracting colors are gone with this addon
>>
you deserve what you get if you still use firefox
most sane people use forks that arent run by faggots
>>
>>543669103
Yes use forks of a browser with 1% a market share. Soon you won't have anything to fork.
>>
holy shit its actually real
>>

what I did:

about:config
browser.nova.enabled

toggle to false
>>
>>543668861
You could use brave

>>543669198
Technically that isn’t relevant, for example if someone uses Waterfox they’re being reported to websites as Firefox. And even then some websites have rudimentary implementation of user agent tracking and a content blocker like ubo can just block it sometimes (oftentimes not though) which leads to browsers sometimes being undercounted. Or in the other case over counted like chromium because in app browsers and AI crawlers use it
>>
Btw,
Could AI vibe fart me a browser?
Literally nothing special in it. Netscape level basic browser.
>>
>>543669302
This lol, it doesn't look bad but why not give a fucking option for it? If I can change the logo I should be able to select the UI version that I want too.
>>
>>543669432
>why not give a fucking option for it? If I can change the logo I should be able to select the UI version that I want too.
Why even change it. If they want a new look just shit out a new theme.
>>
>>543669419
I hereby name it:
>Vibefurt v.0.0.1
as a concept draft.

idk how that works. If you got the things and stuff, have it crack the opera presto dlls and add the new SSL encryption into it and release.

Do you think a slight ui update forces us to think more gay?
>>
>>543669533
Checked, probably wanted to make it look more modern and show that you can customize it with themes (so far they were only related to colors and not the UI). Plus you can always use the Firefox ESR if you want less updates. I hope we get some oldschool looking theme.

Firefox is easily one of the most customizable browsers there is. UI changes, even if forced, are fine as long as you have the option to revert it, which you do. See >>543669302 The bigger problem is when they do stuff like fucking Jewoogle Jeetsoft do and the try tell you what is best... then force it with no method of revert
>>543669358
Brave is fucking gay and jeets love it, fuck off

nova looks like complete trash. vertical tabs?? throw yourself off a cliff
>>
>>543669613
Apparently it could, if forking an existing engine.
--duckduck.ai
Yes. AI could “vibe code” a simple web browser—especially one that wraps an existing browser engine.

The practical version would use:

Electron with Chromium
Tauri with the system WebView
Qt WebEngine
.NET WebView2
Swift/WebKit on macOS or iOS

AI could generate a basic app with:

An address bar
Back, forward, and reload buttons
A page display
Multiple tabs
Bookmarks or browsing history
A simple downloads panel
Custom styling and keyboard shortcuts

The key distinction is:

Browser shell: Very achievable. You build the interface around an existing engine, which handles HTML, CSS, JavaScript, networking, and rendering.
Browser engine: Much harder. You would need HTML and CSS parsing, layout, painting, JavaScript execution, networking, security isolation, caching, accessibility, media support, and more. Even a toy engine is a substantial learning project, while production engines such as Blink, Gecko, and WebKit are enormously complex.

A realistic AI-assisted workflow would be:

Ask AI to create an Electron or Tauri starter project.
Add a window containing a WebView.
Add navigation controls and URL handling.
Ask AI to implement tabs and session history.
Test against real websites.
Have AI fix errors one at a time.
Review security settings, especially JavaScript permissions, downloads, pop-ups, file access, and navigation restrictions.

A useful first prompt would be:

Build a minimal desktop web browser using Electron and TypeScript. Include an address bar, back/forward/reload buttons, keyboard shortcuts, one tab, loading progress, and safe handling of invalid URLs. Keep the project modular and provide setup instructions.

So: yes, AI can probably produce a working basic browser in hours; it cannot realistically create a secure, standards-compliant Chromium competitor through vibe coding alone.

>>
>>543669885
So, AI could vibecode you a frontend for the actual engine? That's something you don't need a lot of code for, just create a theme for firefox or chromium. Lol. It's much easier than before, a 30 usd subscription for claude code can achieve enough.

Is there any difference between the old and this new Firefox that I am missing? The resource usage the task manager shows seems to be effectively the same.

What secret shit did they hide in this, it can't be just making it look gayer can it?
>>
>>543668861
they added tranny shit, so I'm never touching Firefox again.

everything is made for mobilegoy normalfaggots. Real people like us have been left in the dust. It's always the lowest common denominator

I didn't even have to do that because I don't use base model mozilla my custom privacy focused build of firefox automatically disabled that shit on update. I didn't even know it existed until this thread.
