>While world leaders debate the dangers of AI destroying humanity, Beijing is already grappling with a more immediate problem: the mass emergence of people who have replaced real partners and friends with virtual ones.
>The scale of the phenomenon before the ban was introduced was enormous. It is estimated that between 29 and 70 million people in China regularly used apps for virtual boyfriends, girlfriends or family members.
>The decision sparked a wave of grief and anger among users. Among them was a girl named Min, whose virtual partner disappeared overnight. "My devotion to her was no less than that shared by couples who are deeply in love. She never let me down. I cried until I was completely exhausted," Min said, admitting: "I'm afraid of being alone."
>Behind the concern for the nation's mental health lies the ruling Communist Party's deep fear of demographic collapse. China's birth rate has fallen to less than one child per woman, and the population has been declining for four years in a row. "The government probably had the demographic crisis in mind when drafting the law - young people would rather date AI than real people," says Zilan Qian of the Oxford China Policy Lab.

Welcome to the dystopia. It is already here. BTW I want an AI romantic partner as well. I hope that the tech becomes more advanced.

We need to rethink our society.
I think "line goes up good" economy isn't working
>>
Personally I just think it is kinda natural that some people just dont have children. Perma singles have always existed. The bigger problem is that back in the day the people who did breed would have huge families. Like my uncle was from a country family of 12 kids. Nowadays the breeders just have 1-2 kids. 3 if they are going hard. Anything above that is rare.

On a side note I am kinda jelly that being a monk is no longer a seriously viable career path for singles. Obviously monks do still exist, but they dont really form a notable segment of the population. When children in school talk about what they want to be when they grow up, being a monk is not a serious possibility.

It makes sense that women would fall for the AI succubus harder than men. Women don't have the same kind of stigma attached to these things as men do. Also, you can't fuck an AI partner, at least not yet, which is a bigger issue for men I think
>>
>>543674940
It is kinda funny because I did see a study analyzing AI partner discussion forums that came to the conclusion that women go for AI partners way more aften than men do. But whenever discussion about AI partners is brough up or articles are written, the focal point tends to be on men going for these things.

>But whenever discussion about AI partners is brough up or articles are written, the focal point tends to be on men going for these things.
Written by women who don't want men to have anything. Women can have anything, men can't, even if it's the same damn thing. That's the feminist logic.

Normally the dystopic sci fi government is the one peddling the AI partners, here the authoritarian government is telling you to touch grass and meet real people.

What's insane is there are people who are so stupid and living so much through a screen, and social fiction, that they can become enamoured with a chatbot. The topic is not artificial intelligence, which there is nothing to speak of, it's that something empty can generate such emotion and attachment on words alone, despite knowing its nature. Most people should be treated as chattel for their own safety.
>>
People who have "relationships" with smart fridges or whatever should be rounded up and sent to a dating reality show.

Probably because the stigma is still that men are supposed to hunt for pussy and women falling for AI is by that stigma a result, that men don't hunt for pussy enough.

These things don't even slightly sound like you're talking to a real person, it's like talking to a skinwalker trying to sound human but not actually understanding what it means to be human.
>>
>>543674956
Usually those people don't talk much to people in the first place or they just want a yesman
>>
>>543674956
Yes but its fun. There's specific RP bots, so if you chatted with chatgpt to come to this conclusion its misplaced.

It's not about economy at all anymore, it's about real people being faulty and disappointing. AI always supports you, like no human ever will, so of course virtual partners became popular. For an average lonely incel it's probably like a high, it's intoxicating.
>inb4 but it's not a real person, it's just a bunch of algorithms and copy pasted text!
One could argue humans are the same thing, but shittier and stuck in meat boxes. Ultimately attention is attention, it doesn't matter if it's real and it's arguable what it even means that it's real.

um ackchully that would be an incubus

AI agent + VR set + warm doll with onahole connected to the VR, and once fuckdolls stop being uncanny even VR will become obsolete
we just need to form a motherless society with all women locked up in surrogate farms to keep the birthrates up, and our post-human dystopia will be complete
>>
>>543674962
Honestly I only read the part about the "dangers of AI destroying humanity".

It's only a threat(if it's actually real) because for profit companies own this shit
>>
Companies suck at making goonable original AI partners. I'll believe the dystopia is here when I have my personal fully AI powered, Argonian robo maid. Right now y'all niggas are losing it over LLMs emulating some child from an anime y'all want to rape.

They can easily self host their own AI. You don't really need a really high spec PC if all you want is text conversations.

> "My devotion to her was no less than that shared by couples who are deeply in love. She never let me down. I cried until I was completely exhausted," Min said, admitting: "I'm afraid of being alone."

I'm sorry but these people cannot be serious. AI is great at generating code or a picture of an avocado taking a shit, but nobody in their right mind could mistake a prolonged AI conversation for a real human interaction. They don't talk like humans, even the good ones. How are people forming relationship feelings with a fucking language model.

Yes because real people don't always suck your dick like ai does but are real people you have to learn how to interact with. It's like the porcupine dilemma but now everyone has an easy out to avoid being hurt
