Corporate consolidation has increased, with a notable trend of mergers, and most importantly, with the dramatic increase in bankruptcies of small businesses and small farms in particular. The economy is clearly becoming increasingly centralized as a direct result of federal policy, and once again, central actors are collaborating with the state directly to pursue their interests
