Why is it so HARD to learn Polish? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XfPOOXF_lGI
>take silly Slavic language and cram it into idiotic Latin alphabet
>>543685253because you're too low IQ
>>543685253Polish isn’t difficult. If you know Russian, you can understand about 40–50% of a Polish text without preparation (especially if you’re familiar with Ukrainian or Belarusian).
>>543685253Rzeszów is not hard to pronounce. It just looks hard because it uses consonant combinations for a phoneme instead of one consonant with a diacritic.rz is one sound, like "zh"sz is one sound, like "sh"ó sounds like "oo"It could be: żešuwIf you want your Slavic sibilant-heavy, Polish is your go-to Slavic language. If you hate sibilants, don't learn Polish for fun.
>>543687091partially understanding text doesn't mean the person will be able to communicate speakinglost of post-Soviet garbage that comes to Poland expect us to speak Russian and then they cry that they aren't treated like kings by the locals with such attitude
>>543685253The name of this city comes from armies of frogs doing reeee. It also happens to be the most righ-leaning voivodenship capital in Poland.
>>543689051And it's cleanest and safest, usually that comes hand in hand with being right-wing (at least in Poland)the more liberal and pro-EU place the biggest shithole it is and the more criminal the population
>>543687640If one knows pronouciation in mandarin it could be of great help in learning polish, we use nearly the same set of sound, the only one not to find in polish is chinese englis-like "er", curiously r at the start of the syllabe is pronounced exactly like polish "rz/ż" and in polish declination "rz" variant often comes from normal "r"Polish "ó" however is in fact abbreviated English "oo".our two versions of "h": "h" and "ch" in olden times were in fact pronoinced in different ways (like in Georgian) with "ch" as soft (it is in fact connected with greek χ) and "h" pronounced in hard way curiuosly ukrainians use this "h" instead of "g".
Buy an ad, faggot
>>543685612polish wasn't ever "crammed" into latin, because it literally evolved around latin, it only ever used latin.
>>543689520don't expect a mutt to understand basic knowledge. Just ignore american flags
Some polack on here told me when I csn read this cursive im ready to return to the land of my forefathers. The polish consulate told me I have sufficient proof of ancestry to apply for citizenship. Spanish is my second language but that was easy because its Latin and because I get to use it all the time especially professionally. I have zero polish language skills. Im deeply ashamed of it. But as yuri Kaplan said im trying to do better every day.
>>543689827Install Anki, buy a grammar book and start grinding, you have no excuse.
>>543689520Thanks to that many more complocated words come straight from latin like tons of chinese words in japanese. However in part of terminology especialy in names of few basic elements we gone uniquely distinctoxygen is "tlen" from "tlić" eng. "to smoulder"hydrogen is wodór from wodo-ród that is exact translation from latin namewe also have our own distinct name system of months based on the the description of changes of nature if English would attept something similar it would end up like that:PassFrostMarchBloomBedeckedRedGrubLindenScytheHeatherShivesLeaffallFrozenruts
>>543690145I have some books. Please elaborate on Anki.
>>543690246It'a program for memorizing words using spaced repetition. You can definitely find some Polish word banks on ankiweb.
