are we living in the last days of 3D firearm printing /pol/?

No but leftists fear guns. They want you powerless. Luigi shot a democrat. See how fast he was caught

3D printed guns are retarded. You can buy a fucking black powder firearm over the Internet, no ID needed.

3D printed shit sucks in general. Real men 3D delete the things they need.

The bypass is to manufacture your own 3d printer and CNC machine to make guns in the millions.

I am actively learning these skills and will become ungodly levels of wealthy while pissing off California to bypass every law they make legally and there is literally nothing they can do to stop me and now they have created incentives for me to become a manufacturing god of weapons.

Actually as funny as it is, using hand tools does also bypass the entire purpose of the law too.
>>
>>543717593
How would the machine know the open source scad code I use and possibly modify is for a gun or gun part?
>>
>>543717593
At this point California is just hurting themselves.
They will end up paying double for the a neutered 3d printer, meanwhile criminals will just drive 3 hours to Mexico or Nevada or whatever and get what they need.
And that's assuming no one releases an unlocked printer with an open source os.
>>
>>543717593
You do realize that law is impossible to enforce, right? There's literally no way a 3d printer can look at a file and tell it's a gun part you're trying to make unless you lock out very specific shapes, which means every 3d printer has to come with a library of gun parts to prevent you from making gun parts.
>>
>>543717593
This bill, from a technology standpoint, is near impossible to do.
This bill, from an enforcement standpoint, is going to be impossible to enforce without absolutely trampling the rights of law-abiding printer users.

It's either going to be implemented in the slicer - which most are open source and can easily be patched out (or use an older slicer).
OR
Implemented in the printer firmware, which is retarded since it's way harder to do checks on g-code than it is to do it on a mesh, and there's even less processing power to its checking, and also can just by bypassed by flashing a different firmware on, or throwing in a marlin/klipper/whatever board.
3d printers started as arduinos connected to a bunch of steppers. Some of them (marlin) are essentially still just this.

So they will probably try to make modifying your printer in any way illegal, or modifying slicer software illegal.

Also, how the fuck is the software going to tell the difference between a "gun part" and a "replacement part for an old cuckoo clock"

None of this bill was thought out by someone who actually knows anything about 3d printers.
>>
whatever hardware stops you can be jail broken I bet what a waste of time. Anything can be spoofed ANYTHING
>>
>>543717989
The whole point is to document entire manufacturing lines in clouds so that China can easily steal it and copy it.
>>
3d printed guns and all plastic guns are already banned in many states. Same with weight limits on guns too. This is just another "we banned the same thing 6 times look at us"
>>
>>543717593
>3D print me a 3D printer
problem solved
>>
>>543718075
I'm guessing what's going to happen is printer manufactures will start having a little pop-up that asks you "is this a gun part?" before printing. Purely for a legal liability thing. Since that is basically just as effective as any current "gun part detector" software tech.

Either that, or it's going to be some false-positive crazy "ai" bullshit that either runs on your computer, and/OR, something that uploads each and every file you print to the cloud (china). All this is doing is fucking over law-abiding people who aren't printing guns at all, while the actual "criminals" will just jailbreak their printers, use old printers, design parts that don't get detected, etc.
Also manufacturing your own gun parts is legal. So fuck that.
>>
>>543717593
We're living in the last days of everything nice that remains, and indeed the days after most nice things have already been removed from our lives.
>>543718131
>impossible to enforce without absolutely trampling the rights of law-abiding printer users.
As if they ever gave a fuck about law abiding anyone.
>>
>>543718131
You can do it with PLCs but the PLCS won't connect to a cloud reliably or even at all if they are even manufactured anymore so it effectively kills the entire industry startups who use them.

Alternative solution is to make custom PLCs which is not impossible.
>>

yes and in Minecraft many cap and ball revolvers cab have a smokeless powder cartridge cylinder swapped in
>>
>>543718131
they will go with a basic template and if you get any close to it it's going to throw a warning, it's probably going to end up affecting more than gun parts at first and straighten up to block every conceivable parts being made for a gun it's not as hard as you think it is since it's a precise design schema for the more important parts
they don't actually have to make all the gun unprintable just some specific parts
very clear it's going to be used to block more then firearm eventually and the only way it can be done is by having a register of printed parts from the customers it's only a question of time because it come gated by the "cloud" and you don't even have it locally, you need to accept the death of the personal computer who's going to go faster, for now there's a lot of old material but if the memory shortage push past 2030 the old material will increase in value and rarity exponentially
it's going to be linked to the digital ID sooner or later and they'll come with anti tampering methods that break warranty
they applied that model to almost everything they call that the napster model I think
>>

>You do realize that law is impossible to enforce, right?
won't stop them from spending millions on monitoring and enforcement. just because something is unenforceable doesn't mean that they won't flush as much of your money down the toilet as possible regardless.
they'll likely just outright ban the sale of any 3d printer that doesn't require you to upload what you're printing to somebody else's computer to run through a LLM. maybe they'll update the firmware so that any tube that just happens to be the same size as standard bullets fails.

Stop parroting the propaganda. 3D printing isn't used in crime. Blacks, the primary source of gun crime, aren't 3D printing shit. They just get clean gang members to buy all their shit from stores, or get it from other states. And even then illegal manufacturing comes from the Philippians. ATF isn't going to touch ANY of that because it's black crime, and black crime is legal to Democrats.

The REAL reason for all this shit is to track the smart whites with spyware because it requires all the printers to phone home if bad prints are being used. This is the groundwork for laying down IP laws to prevent repair work via 3D printing so that corpo Jews can enforce enshitification and planned obsolescence. Yeah Soros - the guy funding it all - cares about being assassinated, but it's really a cover for corpo Jews to enforce their humiliation rituals on the public.

They did.
Technically still exempt but in practice realguns are rare to prevent the death of an actor costing a studio millions when a movie cannot be finished.
Most movies use fake guns since Brandon Lee died in The Crow.
Except for rare scenes where a gun must be disassembled or otherwise show detail beyond being fired.
You gotta be a big shot to get the required insurance coverage for production to use real guns.
Rust produced outside Hollywood has probably made it even worse after that death.

That was explained IN DEPTH by dozens of knowledgeable 3d printing nerds during every hearing they had. The snakes voted for it anyway.
They KNOW. They DON'T CARE

Even IF the tech were actually capable, it's still a violation of several Constitutional Rights. And they ALL voted for it anyway.

It's all based on lies anyway. You can make "ghost" guns from parts available at Home Depot. You have a Constitutional Right to MAKE these parts at home on a 3d printer.

Its NOT "just" about guns. It goes way deeper than that. And every part of it is a violation of our Constitutional Rights.

It's primarily about ghost DRONES and making your own DRONE PARTS. But they don't say that because its not what the Soccer Moms care to listen about.

>>
>>543718075
WRONG! Your 3D printer shall phone home about ALL parts and it will all be checked against a database or some AI agent will be used, and if you dare use a copyrighted item you will be fined. Because gun parts are literal cylinders for some bits, ALL parts will need to be submitted for Governmental Review. Govt agents (AI or jeet) will determine if your cylinder is illegal or not. This way they can claim it's for "safety" while trampling your rights.

>>543718131
>trampling the rights
That is the actual point. They want to check everything you print for IP and other shit they can fine. And if it's unique, it will be "hacked" and sent to China. This isn't stupidity, it's malice. (Especially since we know who is behind all these 3d printer laws)

The Nerf boys aren't going to like this either. All of their shit is gonna be tagged as illegal. For both "firearms" and IP violations.

Govt ((kikes)) really really really do not like you being able to print shit on your own. They want to suppress them, not enable them. That is why making it impossible is GOOD for them. Oh, you can't jump through our impossible red tape? Too bad, no printing for you. Get fucked goy.
>>
>>543717593
AI robots will be able to build firearms. The progress is exponential. Progress cannot stop because of China. AI cannot be controlled. Checkmate.

>Also, how the fuck is the software going to tell the difference between a "gun part" and a "replacement part for an old cuckoo clock"
There's been a ton of reports of people utilizing this tech and getting FALSE POSITIVES on things like artificial eyes (like a fake implant just so you don't have to wear an eyepatch, not an actual bionic eye), flashlight parts, etc.

EVEN IF they got the tech implemented, the amount of false positives are going to be a major bitch. Who is ANYONE to tell you what you can or can not print especially when they're wrong on what it is to begin with?

What is a knife? Am I using it to cut my steak (yes) or to harm someone (no)? They cannot determine INTENT. They judge you guilty without any possibility of appeal.

WHERE is the ability for redress? Who do you appeal to when the AI thinks wrongly that you're printing a gun part when it's not?

This whole thing is SO fucking gross and total bullshit.

Ammo still needs to be assembly line made at home, just because the powder product is explosive/flammable. So you need to combine the 4 bits together separately. For cartridge based ammo.

Lead shot and black powder can be made at home with a forge setup and proper molds. Though the feds won't be happy with you making BP, much less any modern smokeless powder.

>They want to check everything you print for IP and other shit they can fine.
That's a violation of Fair Use. I have a legal right to make anything I want for PERSONAL USE. For IP, it's illegal to SELL but not illegal to make. And it's nobody's business to intervene.

For example, if they tried to implement a counter for how many you printed, are you fucked if your print fails? Or breaks?

I just recently printed for my own personal use a vehicle from Battlestar Galactica that probably would have falsely triggered the AI claiming it was a gun part (it's not). Near the end of the print I had terrible z-wobble so I need to reprint one section. I'm not going to put up with being accused of jack shit because I want to make a stupid toy for myself at home.

This entire bullshit is going to really harm the younger generation of kids who want to tinker with and learn things like CAD, and will put them far behind the H1B visa holders. It's so fucking asinine.

3d printers are basically just like normal computer printers outside some run on microSD cards completely internet free.

That means if they want no gun prints, there are 2 options:
1. Printer recognizes it as gun parts and automatically says no. This exists in modern printers where it recognizes money and won't copy it. But unlike money, gun bits are all over and not documented, nor have the special patterns that identify them as such.
-- This is the "tech solution" that they need first. Some program that auto-identifies gun bits.

2. They force an internet connection and it phones home to the state each print and the state approves it / disapproves it. State then makes database of disapproved parts. This is sort of a "gun ban list" blue states use, but expanded to parts. This just means all CA printers must use internet and must use a CA govt site.

Given the law seems to want path 1, that means someone has to STEAL gun intellectual property to make a database (if no capital). Because no fucking gun maker is gonna provide them with IP for free. And that means some Chud SF techbro will have to pony up millions for IP from gunmakers to make a database of banned parts. Now once made, CA can then pay billions to the techbro for the software, and then it can be forced into all CA compliant printers for $1000s per printer so CA can make that money back they lost to a techbro. And if a techbro steals the gun IP, CA is gonna be class action sued into the ground the second they touch that database.

All of this is nonsense since you need to machine metal firearms parts to get to a real gun. 3D printing metal is still emerging tech, we're still worried about voids and such causing fatigue failures. Which is a big BOOM when in a firearm. You know, the "put a thumb in it" kind of boom. No one is gonna print an entire firearm. Replacement parts for grips and shit? Yeah, but those don't make the BOOM. The metal does.

Defense distributed had an entire tutorial on making ammo start to finish, but it is a crazy amount of work. The solution I have been thinking of is if it is possible to raise the chamber pressure on Tippmann's propane marker system. An at least semi automatic firearm that could fling .35-.50 caliber projectiles above 850fps that requires no primers/casing/powder manufacture would be an absolute game changer for any kind of insurgency. Possibly with 3D printed sabot waddings? Insert Hank Hill memes as required.

Thrown out of court because they lack standing because they haven't been prosecuted for unregistered 3d printing.

All the challenges to illegal voting gets thrown out because you can't challenge the law before or during an election, because it hasn't happened yet, and you can't challenge after the election because the court won't grant relief. There are lots of ways to abuse the legal system.

They'd have to ban 3d printers entirely. Any control they put on 3D firearm prints can be bypassed by simply cutting an identified firearm part into multiple separate pieces that are later slotted back together. You can even add random supports or breakaway pieces to obscure whatever algorithm they cook into the slicing software (assuming you're not using free open source alternatives that don't have this nonsense).

I may or may not be in california and I may or may not have made plenty of arms without a lathe and without buying a factory barrel. There is so much misinformation in this thread. 3 d printed guns are not only viable, they've been obsolete for years. Even if it were possible to ban certain files from the printer we've had ghost robotics for over a decade. People are worried about getting shot by a ghost gun, when we've had crowdsourced weaponry and DIY drone strike capabilities all this time. We even have 3DP AT capabilities. just wait until you see the technology paired with AI. Home depot sells firearms in the form of d.I.Y. Kits, ammo included. If you're worried, stock up on printers now , but they can't stop the signal.

Well that make sense, I seem all though details are a bit hazy that there has been during or shortly after the formation of Israel the precursor of the mossad did literal terrorism against other jews in I think Jordan or syria. The goal was to coax jews into moving into Israel where then they'd be safe.

So considering this precedent and also considering the ambition of 'greater Israel', it does call for more jewish colonist settlers.
I mean what good is doing a landgrab if you don't have sufficient people to seed it with right?
So stirring up some shit in our countries(in our case for instance pro-gazan sentiments are resulting in lots of jewish oy veys.

And centuries of jewing made them keenly aware when it is precisely time to cash in their chips and move on. usually this coincides with when they know the jig is up .

unfortunately considering how much wealth this cohort has in the USA it might trigger a financial collapse the like we haven't seen before when they truly make their exodus, so keep an eye on them when they flee the sinking ship.

Have you actually seen home made gauss weapons? They generate less muzzle energy than air rifles.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwHRjgVWFno
The EMG-02 coilgun delivers up to 20 Joules of muzzle energy per shot, which is comparable to low-end air rifles. While the single-shot energy is 20J, the device is capable of delivering a total output power of 266 Joules per second when firing at its maximum rate of 8 rounds per second.
This is not the way. Something using a replicatable combustion chamber using an available fuel mixture that only requires commonly accessible materials like high pressure tubing and plasma spark plugs is. If not than the best bet is PVC compound bows to fight your way to a real gun.

This doesn't work anymore. Why dilute legal discussion with it in the first place?
If you're a legal gun owner then getting the cylinder replacement really isn't worth it at $500, not to mention that you need to disassemble the gun to reload it. Just buy a normal gun. If you don't have your gun rights, then knowing how to make and use paper cartridges is plenty fine.

Wait until 3d print shops open and you can just bring in the bumper to a car and they scan it and print it for you for cost of material + usage.
A 3,000 dollar replacement bumper is now 500-700 dollars. Many super cars started to cheap out on plastic. Im sure a replacement cup holder is 700 dollars but a 3d printed one to pretty much exact specifications is 40 dollars.

The bill is completely contingent on a third party organization finding a technology that works for this purpose, as validated by another third party organization.

The bill is passed, pending the technology is feesible. This, of course, is insane and won't go through because neither group will be able to make or find a technology that meets the standard of the law BUT what's even more insane is we're at pre-legislation.
